Mercedes-Benz is taking the C-Class into a new electric era with the introduction of the all-new Electric C-Class Sedan, bringing 482 hp, an 800-volt electrical architecture, and a claimed range of up to 762 km.

The new electric C-Class is not simply a battery-powered version of the existing sedan. The company has developed it around a dedicated electric architecture, giving the model its own proportions, technology and driving characteristics.

The first version to be introduced is the C 400 4MATIC Electric. Its dual-motor setup produces 482 hp and sends power to all four wheels, allowing the sedan to accelerate from zero to 96 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.

Underneath is a 94-kWh lithium-ion battery paired with an 800-volt electrical system. The brand says the system supports DC fast charging at up to 330 kW, while the vehicle can also use 400-volt charging infrastructure through an integrated converter.

The electric C-Class is designed to balance performance with long-distance comfort. Mercedes-Benz offers Airmatic air suspension with intelligent damping, while rear-axle steering can turn the rear wheels by up to 4.5 degrees. These technologies are intended to make the sedan more agile while maintaining the comfortable ride expected from a Mercedes-Benz.

Its design also marks a departure from the previous EQ-branded electric sedans. The C-Class Electric features a more traditional sedan silhouette combined with a fastback-like rear profile, a prominent grille and a new interpretation of Mercedes-Benz’s three-pointed-star design language.

Inside, technology takes center stage. The available MBUX Hyperscreen stretches 39.1 inches across the dashboard, while the car runs on the brand’s latest MB.OS operating system. The system incorporates artificial intelligence through the latest-generation MBUX Virtual Assistant, along with connected navigation and other digital services.

Other available features include an augmented-reality head-up display, high-end front seats with massage and ventilation, Burmester 3D and 4D surround sound systems, a panoramic Sky Control roof and Mercedes-Benz’s latest Digital Light technology.

The company is also emphasizing personalization and sustainability, with an available Vegan Society-certified interior.

Mercedes-Benz says the new Electric C-Class Sedan will arrive at U.S. dealerships in the first half of 2027. Philippine availability and specifications have yet to be announced, but the model gives the brand a significant new entry in the now-competitive premium electric sedan market.

Autocar’s Take

The new electric C-Class feels like a significant move for Mercedes-Benz because it does not try to make the C-Class look like just another futuristic EV. Instead, it retains the proportions and character of a luxury sedan while packing some serious electric technology underneath. The 482 hp output and 762 km claimed range are impressive, but the 800-volt architecture and 330-kW charging capability are just as important for everyday usability.

The bigger question for the Philippines is whether the German brand will eventually bring it here and at what price. If it does, the C-Class Electric could become a very interesting premium EV option.
