
BYD Cars Philippines showed its determination to further reinforce its electric vehicle (EV) lineup by previewing the Sealion 7 back in April. Now, BYD PH announced that it is already accepting reservations for the soon-to-be-launched Sealion 7 at all its dealerships nationwide.
BYD said that the Sealion 7 is designed as a performance-oriented electric SUV with an all-wheel-drive system, a sleek aerodynamic profile, and a technology-focused cabin featuring advanced driver-assistance systems. Previously, we have reported that the BYD Sealion 7 is already included in the Department of Energy’s (DOE) recognized EV list.
However, the Chinese car brand has yet to reveal the official specs of the said EV, but based on the initial information uploaded on DOE’s website, here are the things that we can expect from the upcoming BYD Sealion 7.
The initial specs suggest that the BYD Sealion 7 is equipped with dual electric motors and an 82.6 kWh BYD Blade Battery, which together generate a combined power output of 523 horsepower and 690 Nm of torque. The car brand claims it can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 215 km/h. In terms of EV driving range, BYD claims that the Sealion has a maximum electric range of 456 kilometers (WLTP) on a single charge.

Exterior-wise, the BYD Sealion 7 could come with LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED third brake light, LED taillights, and rear fog light. It’s also expected to have a panoramic sunroof, flush door handles, black cladding, a power tailgate, and soundproof double-glazed glass.
Other features we could expect are the following: 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 15.6-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless smartphone charger, 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and DynaAudio 12 speakers, among others.

In terms of safety tech, the BYD Sealion 7 could be fitted with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which include adaptive cruise control, emergency lane keeping assist, lane departure assist, blind spot detection, and forward collision warning, among many others.
The BYD Sealion 7 could be offered with the following exterior colors: Atlantis Gray, Aurora White, Cosmos Black, and Shark Gray. Of note, these are just initial specs and are not yet final. BYD Cars PH has yet to release the official specs of the upcoming Sealion 7.

Based on the initial specs, the BYD Sealion 7 packs some serious power, coupled with a notable max EV driving range. With these specs combined, BYD PH could have another contender in the EV market. It is also looking to be packed with stylish exterior and interior features that are complemented by modern amenities and safety tech.
