The Mitsubishi Destinator is the diamond brand’s newest 7-seater SUV, and it’s arriving sooner than expected. After debuting in Indonesia in July, it immediately made a splash and piqued the attention of the public, primarily because of its modern styling. Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) quickly followed suit, confirming the Destinator’s local introduction.

It’s official: the Mitsubishi Destinator’s launch is on November 20, 2025. The public launch will take place at 10:00 AM at the Ring Garden of the Ayala Malls Manila Bay, followed by a four-day vehicle showcase and activity area at the ASEANA Concert Grounds in Pasay City.

To drum up anticipation, MMPC has also rolled out the Destinator Premiere Sightings, a nationwide car-spotting activity that allows the public to see the new SUV before its official release. These sightings run across multiple weekends, starting October 25–26 in Alabang, Silang, Antipolo, and Manila, followed by North and South Luzon legs on November 8-9, and wrapping up with Makati, Manila, and Pasay routes on November 15 – culminating in a presence at the Autofocus Test Drive Festival at the SM Mall of Asia.

The Destinator will sit neatly between the Xpander Cross and Montero Sport, completing the brand’s SUV lineup for the region. Developed and built in Indonesia, it’s also Mitsubishi’s third model designed for global export, following the Xpander and Xforce.

What Can Buyers Expect?

The Destinator’s exterior borrows heavily from the DST Concept SUV that was shown in the Philippines last year. Already winning design awards abroad, it features a bolder interpretation of Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield fascia, a wide stance, and a mix of sleek curves and strong edges. Inside, buyers can expect a spacious, three-row cabin highlighted by a panoramic sunroof, 64-color ambient lighting, roof-mounted A/C vents, and a refined dashboard layout.

Convenience and personalization take center stage. The 12.3-inch central display and 8-inch digital cluster sit side by side on a single panel, while the infotainment system allows user-specific customization. A Yamaha-developed sound system adds an extra layer of cabin sophistication, offering tuning modes for different seating positions.

Under the hood, the Mitsubishi Destinator is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with a CVT, producing 161 hp and 250 Nm of torque. Like the Xforce crossover, it also comes with multiple drive settings: Normal, Wet, Gravel, Mud, and Tarmac. The suspension setup emphasizes ride comfort, which should be an important consideration for local buyers.

Safety-wise, the SUV comes with Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing, which includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Mitigation, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and an around-view monitor.

With its well-balanced combination of space, technology, and everyday usability, the Destinator looks ready to fill a niche many Filipino families have been waiting for. The Philippine launch will definitely be one of the most talked-about events of 2025.

Perhaps the biggest question now is: How much? Let’s wait and see.
