As road trips are expected to surge during the upcoming Undas and Christmas season, ride-hailing app inDrive is committed to ensuring safer journeys for all its users with the #inDriveLigtasBiyahe initiative. The company has enhanced its security features and reinforced its annual training program for partner drivers, focusing on road safety, regulations, and service standards.
Afanasii Petrov, inDrive’s Business Development Manager for Southeast Asia Macroregion, APAC, highlighted the importance of continuous security upgrades. He stated, “At inDrive, we leverage machine learning and work closely with Laban TNVS to regularly improve our safety protocols. By staying updated with tech advancements and maintaining strong connections with those on the ground, we ensure that our drivers and passengers remain safe both on the road and online, especially during peak travel seasons.”
Upgraded In-App Security Features
Drivers and passengers can now benefit from enhanced in-app security designed to improve both data protection and ride safety. These updates include stronger encryption for user data, regular system audits, and a commitment to transparency in data handling.
inDrive’s Safety Centre has been revamped to allow the support team to quickly contact a user’s trusted individuals during emergencies. Users can now add up to five trusted contacts, an increase from the previous limit of one. Additionally, the app’s review and rating system has been improved to better assess drivers’ performance and identify those needing further evaluation.
The integration of machine learning into the app’s security features allows for automated processes such as detecting fraudulent documents during driver registration, automating vehicle photo verification, and moderating driver and passenger avatars. These features, combined with smaller, targeted app updates, help maintain the platform’s speed and reliability while addressing security concerns in real-time.
Comprehensive Training for Drivers on Data Privacy and Local Regulations
As part of its partnership with Laban TNVS, inDrive has strengthened its mandatory data privacy training program for partner drivers across the Philippines. This annual series of seminars focuses on internet security laws, data privacy, and compliance with local regulations.
The training program is an integral part of inDrive’s compliance with local traffic laws and data privacy regulations. From onboarding, the platform ensures that drivers receive consistent updates on security policies. Refresher sessions are also planned to further instill a culture where privacy and security remain top priorities.
Jun De Leon, President of Laban TNVS, expressed his appreciation for the partnership, stating, “This initiative gives our drivers an opportunity to enhance their skills and provide better service to passengers. It’s something Laban TNVS has long planned for our Ka-Gulong drivers, and we are grateful to partner with inDrive, which shares our values, to bring it to life.”
