Public transportation in Bacoor City took a significant step forward with the deployment of ten new Class 3 modern public utility vehicles (MPUVs). The move marked another milestone under the government’s Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP). The rollout was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Hariphil Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), Hyundai Truck & Bus Philippines, the Magnificat Transport Cooperative, and the City Government of Bacoor.

The deployment of modern PUVs aims to deliver safer, more comfortable, and more efficient daily commutes for passengers travelling on the Molino 4-Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) route. Local officials, led by Mayor Strike B. Revilla and Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista Mendiola, participated in the ceremonial ribbon-cutting alongside transport stakeholders and cooperative leaders.

HARI Vice Chairman, President, and CEO Maria Fe Perez-Agudo said that modernization extends beyond fleet expansion, describing it as an investment in opportunity and long-term sustainability. The executive noted that modern public transport strengthens road connectivity by linking people more efficiently to workplaces, families, and essential services while supporting safer, more reliable operations.

For the Magnificat Transport Cooperative, the rollout represents continued growth following its initial NPUV deployment in 2021. Established in 2028, the cooperative has steadily expanded through partnerships with local government units (LGUs) and private-sector stakeholders, adhering to the cooperative model encouraged by the PUV Modernization Program.

The inauguration also highlighted the role of collaboration in transforming public transportation. Government agencies, transport cooperatives, and private mobility providers worked together to ensure that implementation aligned with national modernization goals while addressing local commuter needs.

As the new Hyundai MPUVs officially entered service, the event symbolized progress toward a transport system built on improving passenger experience. Hyundai Truck & Bus Philippines continues to encourage transport groups and operators to explore modernization programs through its authorized dealerships and information channels, reinforcing its goal of supporting the country’s mobility landscape.

Autocar’s Take

Public transport modernization often feels abstract until new modern PUVs are actually seen on the road being used as intended. This is why launches like these matter. The introduction of modern PUVs designated to operate along the Molino 4-PITX route demonstrates how collaboration between the government, cooperatives, and private companies can translate policy into tangible improvements for commuters.

The initiative promotes professionalism, safety standards, and sustainability of business within the transport sector. Consistent rollout and operator support will remain key challenges, but projects like this show measurable progress that Filipinos can actually see, experience, enjoy, and be confident with to recommend to anyone – even to foreign visitors.
