GAC Motor Philippines highlighted the comfort features of the GN8 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) that allow it to offer a relaxing drive. It has listed some of the notable features of the GN8 PHEV that deliver comfort, space, technology, and performance.

The Chinese car brand said that the GN8 PHEV Executive brings together the qualities expected of a flagship MPV. As such, here are the five reasons why the GN8 PHEV is an ideal choice, according to GAC.

First, GAC said the GN8 PHEV Executive’s second captain’s seats come equipped with four-way power leg rests, position memory, heating, ventilation, and multi-mode massage functions. It also has a zero-gravity seat, which contributes to making journeys more relaxed and could come in handy during long commutes or after busy workdays.

Second, the GN8 PHEV’s interior is integrated with what GAC calls “subtle details” that completely change how you travel. The Zero Breeze climate system uses over 1,600 micro-vents to distribute a gentle, draft-free airflow across the cabin alongside tri-zone climate control and a plasma air purifier. The GN8 PHEV also features a dual grab handle on the B-pillar, while the green-tinted acoustic glass windows help reduce outside or road noise.

Third, the GAC GN8 PHEV is fitted with a digital instrument cluster and a massive 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Second-row passengers enjoy their own smart overhead screen and dual folding tray tables for laptops or snacks. It also has a 16-speaker Yamaha sound system.

Fourth, GAC claims that the GN8’s plug-in hybrid system delivers a significantly smoother and quieter driving experience as compared to a conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle. The GN8 PHEV is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged Miller-cycle engine with a permanent-magnet synchronous motor and a 2-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission. The system generates 373 horsepower and 630 Nm of torque.

GAC added that the GN8 PHEV comes with an electric driving range of up to 120 kilometers and has a total combined range of over 1,000 kilometers. When you need to recharge, DC fast charging can get the GN8’s battery from 30 to 80 percent in just 45 minutes, as GAC claims.

Fifth, GAC Motor PH said that the GN8 is built to keep cool, featuring high-efficiency climate controls and advanced thermal management for its high-voltage battery to ensure peak performance under extreme temperatures. When driving through heavy downpours, GAC noted that the GN8 comes with sealed electrical insulation to protect the battery and motor components. Meanwhile, it also comes equipped with safety tech features such as Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Descent Control, Traction Control, and Anti-lock Braking with Hydraulic Brake Assist, among others.

The GAC GN8 PHEV Executive is available at an introductory price of P3,388,000 until December 31, 2026. It is available with the following exterior colors: Blade Shadow White, Temple Gold, and Elegant Black.

Autocar’s Take

GAC Motor PH has highlighted the comfort features integrated into the GN8 PHEV. As its flagship MPV, GAC said that the GN8 PHEV offers a relaxing drive, especially for owners who are mostly chauffeured around during workdays. This is how GAC Motor PH is positioning the GN8 in the market: an MPV that transports decision-makers and executives. It can also be a family MPV, but GAC wants to create a distinction between the GN8 and other MPVs that it has launched in the local market, such as the E8 hybrid electric vehicle (HEV). The GAC E8 HEV is being positioned as a family MPV.
