Denza, a premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand under BYD, took a significant step toward its Philippine market entry after recently holding a dealer recognition ceremony ahead of its formal launch. The event sends a message that the brand is aiming for a long-term commitment to the country’s fast-evolving automotive landscape.

The ceremony brought together representatives from BYD’s Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division, Denza Philippines leadership board, as well as key business partners. It served as an early signal of the brand’s launch preparations while bolstering itself as an emerging competitor in the local electrified market, anchored on intelligent technology, refined design, and sustainable innovation.

Liu Xueliang, General Manager of the BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division, shared insights into Denza’s global trajectory, noting the brand’s growing recognition across international markets as electrification reshapes the premium automotive segment. The executive sees high potential in the Philippine automotive market, citing how the region’s consumers are now open to premium electrified mobility and technological advancements.

“Across Asia-Pacific, we’ve seen strong momentum for Denza as more markets embrace premium new energy vehicles. That experience gives us confidence in the Philippines, where consumers are increasingly sophisticated and ready to engage with a brand that combines intelligent technology with refined design and comfort,” said Liu.

On the local front, Adam Hu, Country Head of BYD and Denza Philippines operations, outlined the brand’s strategy in the country. He emphasized that Denza Philippines is the only official local distributor of Denza vehicles. Therefore, its focus is on measured and sustainable growth, rather than aggressive volume targets.

Hu explained that the company aims to establish Denza as a brand that customers can trust, highlighting the importance of leadership, clarity, and consistency in building market presence. He added that Denza Philippines plans to expand its dealer network in 2026, alongside the gradual rollout of new models across key segments. Each model introduction, he said, will be deliberate and aligned with Denza’s global standards while adhering to local market expectations.

A key highlight of the event was the formal recognition of Denza Philippines’ initial dealer partners set to build the foundation for its retail and ownership ecosystem in the country. These include Denza Alabang and Denza Cebu, dealerships that will operate under ACMobility Premium Dealership Inc. Meanwhile, Denza Makati was also recognized and will be handled by Harmony New Energy Auto Service (Philippines) Ltd. Corp. Finally, the company appointed E-Vantage Motors Inc. to take charge of the operations of Denza Greenhills.

Autocar’s Take

With the Philippine electrified mobility market steadily on the rise, Denza’s local entry is good news. But one notable thing about this is the kind of approach it took to get on board the local scene. Usually, new brands aim for outright sales numbers, but Denza Philippines sees it differently. The approach was calm, not aggressive.

Denza’s recent dealer recognition matters less for what was shown and more for how the brand is choosing how to enter the local market. Instead of rushing into volume, the strategy points to discipline in the form of a limited initial dealer network, deliberate product introductions, and clear product positioning tied to NEV technology.

This approach mirrors lessons learned from more mature EV markets where credibility, after-sales support, and brand trust ultimately determine long-term success. If executed correctly, Denza’s measured rollout could help raise expectations for premium NEVs locally and push competitors to move beyond headline pricing towards genuine ownership value.
