Charging stations powered by renewable energy are coming

Electrified mobility continues its surge toward widespread adoption in the Philippines as ACMobility partners with Basic Energy Renewable Corporation to roll out additional charging stations for EVs in the country. The meat and potatoes of this partnership is that AC Mobility will handle tasks such as managing charging stations built and developed by BERC.

Combine AC Mobility’s charging infrastructure know-how with BERC’s resources in renewable energy, from solar, wind, geothermal, and energy storage, and you’ve got a partnership that could be the future of mobility. As mobility head of AC Mobility, Carla Buencamino states, “This partnership reflects our shared vision of a future where EV charging is not just available, but reliable, seamless, and powered by clean energy.” She further adds, “By combining forces with Basic Energy, we’re accelerating the rollout of a charging network that supports the real needs of Filipino EV drivers that will be made visible through our Evro app.”

Basic Energy, a firm supporter of the EV transport sector, with ACMobility as its partner, can now actively have a hand in supporting the electric mobility industry, as Basic Energy CEO Oscar L. de Venecia, Jr. states, “Together, we aim to make EV charging more accessible, convenient, and powered by renewable energy — enabling Filipino motorists to take part in the journey toward a greener future.”

Tying all of this together to run smoothly is Evro, ACMobility’s charging app, a jack-of-all-trades charging app that integrates all your charging needs into one, ensuring a simple, fast, and streamlined user experience when charging your EV.

This rollout is set to start with setting up charging stations adorned with both the AC Mobility and Basic RePower logos in Total stations along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), with stations in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, as a starting point.

As ACMobility keeps expanding its already impressive network of EV charging stations, mostly in Luzon, but now stretching into Visayas and Mindanao, it’s also rolling out digital features to make EV ownership a breeze.

There are already over 100 charging locations up and running, with 70 more on the horizon. And with the momentum AC Mobility has now, hitting that ambitious goal of 700 charge points by year’s end doesn’t just seem possible, but it feels practically inevitable.

Sooner or later, it’s a given that countless AC charging stations will continue to be a foundational pillar in the EV infrastructure, with charging stations scattered across the Philippines, from BGC or Makati to other areas like Pagudpud up north, all the way down to Pagadian down south.

Soon, charging your EV might be as simple as walking into a restaurant or convenience store during your stopover and grabbing a bite to refuel. As little by little, AC Mobility is making solid progress in streamlining electrification into the Philippine motoring landscape, with this collaboration marking another step in bringing more accessibility to electric mobility to Filipino EV enthusiasts, people looking for a less polluting way to go from point A to B, or even those looking for more energy-efficient modes of transport alike.
