Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) introduces the next-generation myToyota Connect (mTC), an app that offers smart safety features for Toyota vehicle owners such as the all-new Hilux. TMP said that the next-gen mTC comes with Toyota Remote, as well as connected features that support vehicle convenience, security, and care.
Among the features included in the next-gen mTC is the remote air-conditioning control. It allows owners to switch the A/C on or off through Toyota Remote, allowing them to cool down the cabin before they get inside the car. This could help result in having a more comfortable drive, especially when you parked your Toyota car under the scorching sun.
Speaking of parking, the next-gen mTC is said to make it easier to check on the vehicle once it is parked. Through the app, owners can view the status of the doors, windows, and lights, helping them spot anything that may need attention. Remote locking allows owners to lock the doors without the need to walk back into the parking area.
Now, Toyota’s mTC also allows you to find your Toyota vehicle in a busy parking area in case you forgot your parking spot through the app’s GPS-based Find My Car. Toyota PH added that activating the horn or flashing the hazard lights can help owners spot their Toyota when nearby. Geofence alerts notify owners when the vehicle travels outside a designated area, and anti-theft notifications can alert them to unauthorized entry.

In the event of suspected theft, TMP said that customers can contact support for assistance with stolen vehicle tracking and remote immobilization, subject to applicable service conditions. Of note, immobilization is an assistance-supported feature, not a function for stopping a moving vehicle through the app.
The next-gen mTC also looks out for vehicle health warnings by giving prompts to inform owners of the potential issue that may need attention. Toyota PH added that access to 24/7 customer assistance also gives owners a way to ask for support, while 24/7 roadside assistance helps them seek help when an unexpected concern or breakdown interrupts a journey.
The app can also help you locate the nearest charging and fuel station, depending on vehicle applicability. This feature is said to be useful when traveling through an unfamiliar area or preparing for a longer trip.

TMP noted that connected ownership can bring opportunities to save through Connected Toyota Insure (CTI), a Pay-How-You-Drive insurance offering that considers how a vehicle is driven and how far it travels.
The vehicle’s built-in connected device monitors mileage and driving behavior, including harsh braking, harsh acceleration, and harsh cornering. Driving data is used to calculate a personalized Driving Score. This score, together with mileage, helps determine potential savings at insurance renewal, giving customers a reason to understand the habits behind their everyday journeys.
CTI will soon be available through participating Toyota Insure partners, allowing customers to earn insurance renewal premium savings based on their driving habits.
Connected services extend to other eligible Toyota models through Basic myToyota Connect, which includes features such as Find My Car, geofence alerts and Trip Recorder, depending on model applicability. Owners of the earlier Hilux models, Corolla Altis, Corolla Cross, Camry, Zenix, Hiace, Fortuner, Alphard, earlier RAV4 models, Land Cruiser Prado, and Land Cruiser can ask their dealership which services their vehicle supports.

Of note, the all-new Toyota Hilux BEV comes with a Free 3-year next-gen mTC subscription. After the free subscription period, customers can renew to enjoy myToyota Connect again for a resubscription rate of P1,650, as of this writing.
To get started, download the myToyota App and Toyota Remote App from the App Store or Google Play to access applicable features. For guidance on setting up these services, watch Toyota’s step-by-step activation here.
Autocar’s Take
The next-generation myToyota Connect gives Toyota owners more ways to manage their vehicles through a single app. Features such as remote air-conditioning, door and window checks, remote locking, and Find My Car can make everyday ownership more convenient. Through these connected features, it adds another level of convenience for Toyota owners. Of note, this is not something new, as Ford also has its own version of this tech, known as the FordApp, which was formerly FordPass.
