Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has organized another successful Gazoo Racing (GR) Philippine Cup, as the 2026 season comes to a close with Alain Gabriel Alzona from Toyota General Santos – Davao Racing, Bern Zaragoza from Resultado Racing, and Iñigo Anton from Obengers Racing emerging as the champions in their respective classes.
This is after battling it out on the race track for four heated and action-packed race weekends. The fourth and final race was held at the Clark International Speedway in Mabalacat, Pampanga.
Alzona took home the first-place trophy for the Super Sporting Class category, besting Red Diwa of Toyota Isabela and Joaquin Garrido of Obengers Racing. Zaragoza, on the other hand, emerged as the best driver for the Sporting Class, finishing ahead of Mike Santos of R Racing and Joshua David Marquez of Obengers Racing. Meanwhile, Anton finished on top of the Tamaraw Class ahead of Oliver Aquino of Toyota Bicutan Racing Team and Raymond Cudala of R Racing Team.

Toyota Motor PH also saw fit to unveil the GR 86 One-Make Race (OMR) through a track showcase for the public. The Japanese car brand also announced that there will be a GR 86 Class for the 2027 GR PH Cup season. That said, next year’s GR PH Cup will have three OMRs: Vios, Tamaraw, and GR 86. Aside from that, TMP President Masando Hashimoto revealed that Rookie Racing Garage Manila, a home for people who love cars, will be opening in the country.
“Despite the challenges we faced this year, we continued to race with a purpose. Throughout the 2026 season, we learned, tested, improved, and pushed ourselves forward. As always, we use motorsports as a platform to help shape a better future for mobility,” shared Hashimoto.
“While this season may be ending, our journey is entering an exciting new chapter. We look forward to welcoming a new generation of drivers and enthusiasts as we expand our racing platform to three one-make race classes: the Vios, the Tamaraw, and now, the GR86,” Hashimoto added.

Autocar’s Take
Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) continues to make the GR Philippine Cup even better and more exciting, as it announced that it will be having a new One-Make Race for next year’s season: the GR 86 Class. By adding the GR 86 Class, TMP aims to give motorsports enthusiasts more reasons to follow and head to the tracks every race weekend. The initial grid for the GR 86 Class will be limited to just 30 cars, which means that interested drivers should start coordinating with TMP on how to secure a spot for the 2027 season.
