Lexus announced that it has updated the RX’s chassis to deliver a more refined driving experience, with better handling and ride comfort.
To make this possible, Lexus’ engineers initially tuned the RX’s chassis at the Toyota Technical Center Shimoyama in Japan. From there, the automaker opted to do further tests and refinement as it brought the RX to the Nürburgring circuit in Germany. Lexus shared that its goal was to make the RX capable of delivering “natural vehicle behavior in response to driver input.” The car brand is also determined to give the RX better ride comfort.
As such, Lexus said it has optimized certain RX components to improve handling and ride quality. Among those is the RX’s Adaptive Variable Suspension, which was retuned to yield improved damping characteristics. Lexus added that it has recalibrated the RX’s Electric Power Steering and Dynamic Rear Steering, which is said to produce a smoother and sharper response to driver or steering inputs. Through the said recalibration, Lexus said that the RX lets “the driver communicate with the car.”

Aside from the performance tweaks, Lexus also introduced a new exterior paint, called White Nova Glass Flake. On the other hand, the RX F Sport Performance and RX F Sport now come with red painted brake calipers as a manufacturer option.
The updated Lexus RX also gets infrared-cut front door glass, which could help in reducing heat inside the cabin. Meanwhile, the brake hold function now incorporates a standby memory function that retains the setting when the ignition is turned on. Lexus has also made the digital rearview mirror and dual front-and-rear drive recorders standard features on the RX350h and RX350 trims.
Autocar’s Take
Lexus has updated the RX’s chassis to achieve improved driving dynamics, which is said to result in a more refined overall experience. Lexus aims to do so, as it shared that it is a company that is driven to further evolve the “Lexus Driving Signature,” the refined yet profound driving experience. The Japanese car brand added that it is committed to continuous improvement of basic performance and meticulous craftsmanship in all its models. As such, it has updated the RX’s chassis to deliver better handling and ride comfort, which is expected to offer an even better driving and riding experience.
