MG unveiled two all-new electric concept cars at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, using one of the world’s biggest automotive events to preview the next evolution of its electric vehicle (EV) lineup. The company also showcased advances in artificial intelligence and intelligent driving technologies, underscoring its vision for the future of mobility.

Making their global debut were the MG GO! and the MG Cyber Concept, two studies that hint at where the British-born marque intends to take its EV journey in the coming years. Alongside the concepts, MG also highlighted its latest advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and intelligent driving systems during the annual motoring event.

The MG GO! previews a compact battery-electric hatchback expected to enter production in 2027. Designed by MG’s Advanced Design Centre in London under Design Director Carl Gotham, the concept draws inspiration from classic models such as the MGB GT while adopting a clean, modern appearance. Rather than recreating the past, the design aims to reinterpret familiar MG styling cues for a new generation of electric vehicle buyers.

Meanwhile, the MG Cyber Concept explores the future of the brand’s performance ambitions. Conceived as a large D-segment electric SUV, the concept combines everyday practicality with the driving character traditionally associated with sports cars. Its design references the historic MG EX181 land speed record car while embracing the proportions and technology expected from a modern flagship EV.

Beyond the concept cars, MG also showcased its technological capabilities through its Future Motion Show, where robotic demonstrations highlighted the company’s work in AI, autonomous driving technologies using cameras, sensors and LiDAR, as well as connected vehicle systems.

The display also featured six production electrified models from MG’s growing lineup. These included the newly launched MGS9 PHEV seven-seat SUV, the MG4 EV Urban hatchback, MG HS Plug-in Hybrid, MG ZS Hybrid+, MG IM5, and the all-electric MG Cyberster. Several models also tackled the famous Goodwood Hill Climb during the event.

The unveiling comes as MG continues to expand its electrified portfolio across Europe. The company noted that it surpassed 300,000 vehicle sales in the UK and Europe in 2025 and recently celebrated the delivery of its one-millionth vehicle in the European market.

Autocar’s Take

MG isn’t shy about showing off its future tech at Goodwood. The MG GO! stands out because it embraces the brand’s heritage without becoming overly nostalgic, while the MG Cyber Concept leans into the thought that performance SUVs can still carry genuine character in the electric era. As competition in the EV market continues to intensify, strong design may become just as important as battery range or charging speed. If these concepts accurately reflect MG’s future direction, the brand could strengthen its appeal among buyers looking for electric vehicles that deliver both personality and modern technology.
