Ford Philippines could be preparing to expand the Territory Hybrid variant lineup, as suggested by the Department of Energy’s (DOE) website, which shows the list of recognized electric and hybrid vehicles. The said website indicates a listing under the name, Ford Territory Hybrid Platinum, which hints that it could be a new Territory Hybrid variant on top of the Trend and Titanium X.
The initial specs about the Territory Hybrid Platinum have yet to be uploaded to the DOE’s official website. But based on the available information as of this writing, the Ford Territory Hybrid Platinum could come with a revamped exterior styling, as shown in the image shown at the DOE online portal. As such, the Territory Hybrid Platinum is suggested to be equipped with a new front bumper design, a different set of wheels, a slightly new roof and roof rails finish, as well as a restyled rear bumper.

Considering those clues or information, Ford Philippines could offer something similar to the Territory Hybrid Legend 66 Boundless Edition, which is available in Taiwan. It ticks all the boxes, and its styling fits the expected revamped exterior design indicated on the DOE website.
In comparison with the Ford Territory Hybrid Titanium X trim, the Taiwanese-spec Legend 66 Boundless Edition features a new front grille and has more black trims placed below the headlights, creating a more seamless and refined look. It also has a sportier set of black alloy wheels, black roof rails, a black-top roof (making it come with a two-tone exterior paint), and a slightly revised rear bumper that features a black trim in between the reflectors and faux skid plate.

The revamped exterior styling is similar to the approach seen on Ford’s Sport variants, such as the Everest Sport, wherein the chrome trims are substituted with black accents. This design treatment could be the styling direction employed for the Ford Territory Hybrid Platinum. However, Ford has yet to share the official look and specs of the Territory Hybrid Platinum.
Speaking of specs, the Ford Territory Hybrid Platinum could come with the same 1.5-liter turbocharged hybrid engine paired with a 2-speed dedicated hybrid transmission and a 1.83kW high-voltage battery. Combined output figures are: 148 horsepower from the engine, 216 horsepower from the electric motor, with 315 Nm of peak electric torque. As mentioned, Ford PH has yet to confirm if it will indeed be expanding the Territory Hybrid variant lineup.

Autocar’s Take
Ford Philippines could soon expand its Territory Hybrid variant lineup by adding the Platinum trim on top of the existing Trend and Titanium X. The Platinum trim is integrated with black trims, and that is no accident; we believe that it is intentional, since Ford is known to offer the Sport variant, as seen with the Everest.
Now, Ford PH has yet to confirm whether it will indeed expand the Territory Hybrid variant options. But, with the way things are looking, it would be a good thing if Ford PH offers the Platinum trim, as this will give the Territory Hybrid a new challenger in the ever-growing new energy vehicles battle royale.
