Suzuki Auto Philippines has expanded its Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) facility at its Laguna plant. The move reinforces its focus on quality control, operational efficiency, and improved customer satisfaction.
The upgraded facility is designed to address the growing demand for Suzuki vehicles in the Philippines while ensuring each unit meets the brand’s global quality standards before reaching customers. The expansion, completed in December 2025, introduces several enhancements that streamline operations and improve inspection processes.
Among the key upgrades is the concreting of over 36,000 sqm of the completely built-up (CBU) stockyard. The facility now also features a three-lane PDI line equipped with standardized lighting and inspection pits, allowing for full underbody inspection of all vehicles. Additional improvements include two accessory installation lanes, a dedicated body repair and painting area, a technical repair facility, multiple accessory warehouses, and a centralized office for better coordination.

“The expansion of our PDI facility reflects Suzuki Philippines’ continued commitment to being truly ‘By Your Side’ for every Filipino customer. Through strategic investments in infrastructure and processes, we ensure every vehicle meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability,” shared Koichiro Hirao, President of Suzuki Philippines.
The Suzuki PDI facility enables smoother distributions across key regions in the country. These include Metro Manila, North and South Luzon, and convenient access to ports serving the Visayas and Mindanao.
The company also emphasized that strict quality standards remain in place, with regular audits conducted by Suzuki Motor Corporation in Japan and other global affiliates. Safety improvements have also been integrated into the facility. Among these are better spacing, reduced blind spots, and planned installation of pit occupancy sensors. Moreover, Suzuki highlighted its continued investment in workforce training and employee welfare to maintain consistent output quality.
Looking ahead, the facility is being prepared to handle future vehicle technologies, including electric vehicles (EVs). Planned upgrades include a Suzuki-standard paint booth, portable fueling systems, bird deterrent measures, and sustainability initiatives such as solar power installations.
Autocar’s Take
Suzuki’s latest investment goes beyond adding space. It addresses a critical part of the ownership journey that customers rarely see but always feel. A more efficient pre-delivery and inspection facility means fewer delays, better vehicle preparation, and fewer issues after customer handover.
With today’s marketing becoming more discerning, consistency matters just as much as product appeal. This move also signals readiness for what’s next, particularly with electrified models on the horizon. It may not grab headlines like a new car launch, but internal improvements like this quietly shape brand trust, and that often makes the biggest difference over time.
