Aside from being the consistent top taxpayer in Muntinlupa, Ford Philippines also continues to give back to the community through its partnership with Gawad Kalinga (GK). Ford PH, along with Ford Philanthropy, the global philanthropic arm of Ford Motor Company, donated a brand-new Ranger Sport 4×4 to GK to support its nationwide operations.

The Blue Oval brand shared that the Ford Ranger Sport 4×4 will help GK transport essential goods, support relief operations during disasters and emergencies, and enable volunteers to reach more communities in need. The Ford Ranger Sport 4×4 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo diesel that delivers 168 horsepower and 405 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Ford turned over the Ranger Sport 4×4 during the launch of the Ford Building Together initiative at the GK Headquarters in Mandaluyong City. Ford Building Together is the car brand’s global initiative to support the communities it serves by working alongside its expansive dealer network. It involves dealerships in launching volunteer efforts and lending technology and vehicles to scale the services of its nonprofit partners.

Ford Philanthropy President Mary Culler led the vehicle turnover and launch of Ford Building Together. Ford PH Managing Director Pedro Simoes joined Culler during the event held at the GK Headquarters. Culler highlighted the collective power of Ford PH’s dealers, employees, volunteers, clubs and owner groups, and partners in delivering support to the communities, which is the essence of Ford Building Together.

“Strong communities are built through strong partnerships. By working closely with local leaders and volunteers, we are able to respond to urgent needs while helping create long-term opportunities for families,” Culler said.

Ford Building Together further strengthens the long-standing collaboration between Ford and GK, combining mobility, volunteerism, and community leadership to strengthen resilience before, during, and after crises.

A key pillar of the partnership is disaster preparedness through Operation Walang Iwanan. Ford has supported GK’s disaster response hubs in six regions, equipping them with Starlink mini-satellite internet, emergency tents, relief-grade waders, mobile kitchens, EcoFlow solar battery power, water filtration systems, and communication tools. Ford PH said that between 2024 and 2025, these efforts supported more than 11,500 individuals affected by typhoons, fires, and earthquakes.

Other programs of Ford PH and GK are the following: Operation Better World, which features medical and dental missions, health training sessions, and nutrition programs. On the other hand, Scholars of Sustenance Philippines is an initiative that supports both food security and sustainability by reducing food waste in Nueva Vizcaya while expanding access to nutritious meals for vulnerable families.

Autocar’s Take

Ford Philippines continues to strengthen its partnership with Gawad Kalinga, as it handed over a brand-new Ranger Sport 4×4 pickup truck to the said organization. The said truck will come in handy to GK’s efforts and operations, as it enables them to have a vehicle that can transport essential goods in times of need, and it can also help them reach more communities.

With the launch of Ford Building Together, the partnership between Ford and GK  further solidifies, as the said program is driven to support communities in providing urgent needs. As such, the work and partnership forged between Ford PH and GK is expected to continue.
