Bosch Mobility Aftermarket has officially launched its Bosch Lubricants line in the Philippines, signalling its automotive aftermarket expansion in the country. The new range introduces high-performance engine oils designed to meet the demand of modern gasoline, diesel, hybrid, and two-wheel vehicles.

The launch coincides with the celebration of Bosch 100th year of operations in the Philippines. According to Bosch, the new lubricant portfolio continues its push to bring globally engineered products to local motorists. The company added that the new product prioritizes engine protection, efficiency, and long-term reliability.

Paulo Duarte, country head of Bosch Mobility Aftermarket, said the introduction of the Bosch engine oils aligns with the German brand’s commitment to quality and innovation. The executive noted that the products are engineered for durability and performance while supporting the evolving needs of today’s vehicles.

The lineup covers a wide range of applications. For gasoline engines, Bosch is offering the Premium X7 fully synthetic engine oil. Available in 5W-30 and 5W-40 viscosities, as well as a 0W-20 variant for hybrid vehicles and models with engine start-stop features, this product is certified to meet API SQ and ILSAC GF-7 standards. It promises to deliver notable wear protection, improved fuel efficiency, and high-temperature stability. Next is the Bosch Mega X6 Synthetic Tech 10W-40. Also formulated to lubricate gasoline engines, this synthetic motor oil protects the engine against wear and friction damage, while maintaining cleanliness and efficiency for everyday driving.

Then, there is the Bosch Premium X7 SUV. This fully synthetic engine oil is available in 5W-30 and 5W-40 variants, and comes with ACEA C3 certification to meet the demands of today’s diesel-powered vehicles. Bosch says that this product is formulated to offer strong protection against soot buildup, oxidation, and wear, particularly for turbocharged and high-load applications. Meanwhile, the Bosch Mega D6 Synthetic Tech Diesel Engine Oil 10W-40 is engineered for heavy-duty use with the highest API rating of CK-4, designed to deliver protection and extended vehicle service reliability.

Bosch is also targeting the two-wheel segment with its new dedicated motorcycle and scooter motor oils. The Bosch Premium M7 Fully Synthetic Motorcycle Engine Oil 10W-40 meets both JASO MA2 and API SP standards, and is made to provide high-performance motorcycles with thermal stability and smooth power delivery. On the other hand, the Bosch Premium M7 Fully Synthetic Scooter Engine Oil 10W-40 is geared for optimum fuel efficiency, engine cleanliness, and protection, especially during stop-and-go traffic. Finally, the Bosch Hi-Performance Scooter Gear Oil SAE 85W-90, GL-4 is also introduced to provide lubrication and protection for scooter gear systems.

The products will be made available nationwide through Bosch distributors, partner workshops, retailers, and the Bosch Car Service network.

Autocar’s Take

Given its strong foothold in the local automotive aftermarket industry, Bosch’s move to introduce its lne of engine oils is a logical move. The brand carries credibility, backed by 100 years of successful local operations. That, alone, could influence buying decisions in a segment often driven by trust and perceived quality. What stands out is the diversity of the lineup, covering everything from passenger cars to motorcycles.

However, the challenge for Bosch will be pricing and visibility in an industry dominated by equally well-established engine oil brands. If Bosch can strike a balance between attractive pricing and strong distribution, is has a real chance to carve out meaningful share in the local lubricants space.
