Motorists using key expressways in Southern Luzon will soon see changes in toll fees, as regulators move to implement newly approved rate adjustments across major road networks serving Metro Manila and nearby provinces. The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) has confirmed that updated toll rates for both the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR) Tollway will take effect at the start of 2026, affecting several high-traffic sections that are vital to daily commuting, logistics, and interprovincial travel.

SLEX toll fee adjustments

For SLEX, the new rates will apply to the Alabang to Calamba and Calamba to Sto. Tomas sections. TRB says that motorists traveling from Alabang to Calamba will pay P126 for Class 1 vehicles, P253 for Class 2, and P379 for Class 3. Meanwhile, the Calamba to Sto. Tomas segment will be charged at P34 for Class 1, P68 for Class 2, and P102 for Class 3 vehicles.

Additional toll adjustments will also be implemented, amounting to P10, P21, and P31 for Classes 1, 2, and 3, respectively, at the Alabang to Calamba section, and P3, P5, and P8 at the Calamba to Sto. Tomas section.

STAR Tollway fee adjustments

As for the STAR Tollway, the revised toll fees will cover two main sections. For the Sto. Tomas to Lipa segment, toll rates are set at P60 for Class 1, P119 for Class 2, and P179 for Class 3 vehicles. Meanwhile, the  Lipa to Batangas section will be charged at P53, P106, and P159 for Classes 1, 2, and 3, respectively.

Additional adjustments will also apply, with P5, P9, and P14 added to the Sto. Tomas to Lipa section, and P4, P8, and P12 added to the Lipa to Batangas section, depending on the vehicle class.

According to TRB, the approved toll adjustments are intended to support the continued operations, regular maintenance, and long-term improvement programs of both expressways. These measures are aimed at ensuring safer road conditions, smoother traffic flow, and more reliable travel for motorists using the vital transport corridors linking Metro Manila to CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon).

Motorists are advised to take note of the updated rates ahead of implementation and to plan their travel accordingly. The TRB and tollway operators are also expected to conduct information campaigns to guide road users as the January 2026 implementation date approaches.
