ACMobility has entered a partnership with Shell Philippines Corporation to expand the country’s electric vehicle (EV) charging network through installations at Shell service stations nationwide. This supports ACMobility’s mission to build more than 2,500 charging stations as part of its Philippine EV Spine, an initiative meant to enable long-distance EV travel in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Under the collaboration, the first phase will cover 50 Shell service stations with more than 100 charging points to be installed. Twenty sites are scheduled to begin in the last quarter of 2025, with the remaining 30 slated for 2025. Each station will feature DC fast chargers with outputs ranging from 60 to 120 KW.

Evro, ACMobility’s partner, will serve as the digital platform for users, allowing them to locate nearby EV charging stations, monitor charging status, and handle payments. Evro’s commitment to ACMobility’s mission started earlier this year when it partnered with Shell to improve the fuel giant’s Shell Recharge stations. This latest endeavor solidifies that partnership with something bigger and more long-term.

ACMobility’s partnership with Shell adds another layer to its ongoing rollout of EV charging stations in cities such as Makati, Taguig, and Cebu, as well as along key routes nationwide. By tapping Shell and its extensive network of service stations, the project aims to make charging more accessible and ease concerns of range anxiety among EV users, especially those who are just starting out their EV ownership journeys.

“Shell is one of the most trusted service providers for motorists, with sites in key areas nationwide. ACMobility is pleased to welcome Shell as a partner in delivering the Philippine EV Spine Network. Beyond expanding infrastructure, this collaboration supports the growing EV community and strengthens the country’s transition to sustainable mobility, said Carla Buencamino, Head of Mobility Infrastructure at ACMobility.

Meanwhile, Jolo Valdez, Head of Shell’s Non-Fuel Retail and E-Mobility, shared that the partnership with ACMobility opens the door for Shell to expand its horizon. He went on to say, “By opening our stations to host ACMobility’s charging infrastructure, we are helping create a more reliable and accessible network for EV drivers nationwide.”
