Vietnamese carmaker VinFast has entered into a partnership with DHL Supply Chain Philippines to manage and support its logistics and local supply of electric vehicle (EV) parts and batteries. The move solidifies the EV brand’s push to establish a long-term presence in the country by strengthening its after-sales service nationwide.
The strategic partnership will see DHL take charge of VinFast’s warehousing and distribution requirements, particularly for EV spare parts and components. The collaboration is designed to provide VinFast with a scalable and reliable logistics backbone as its Philippine operations expand.
Central to this partnership is DHL’s 50,000 sqm logistics facility in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. The site serves as VinFast’s primary logistics warehouse, storing and safeguarding thousands of EV spare parts and components sourced from Vietnam for its models, including the VinFast VF 3, VinFast VF 7, and VinFast VF 9. The facility supports inventory management, order fulfilment and parts distribution across key regions nationwide. DHL notes that the building is equipped with advanced warehouse management systems for improved efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround time.

It also has a separate, air-conditioned area for EV batteries. The air-conditioning must be maintained at approximately 20°C and kept running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. According to VinFast and DHL, this is necessary to prevent residual heat buildup, which may accelerate battery degradation.
VinFast shared that the partnership focuses on a critical aspect of EV ownership – after-sales support. As EVs rely on specialized components and systems, access to a well-organized parts supply chain is essential to maintaining vehicle uptime and customer confidence. DHL’s local infrastructure and experience in automotive logistics are expected to help VinFast keep up with the demand as its model lineup and customer base grow.
The collaboration also comes as the Philippine EV market gains momentum, supported by policies under the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA). With more brands entering the local market, robust logistics and service networks are fast becoming key movers beyond product and pricing.
Autocar’s Take
VinFast’s partnership with DHL Philippines is a quiet but important move. That’s because in the EV market, credibility is built as much after the sale as before it. Yes, vehicles and the marketing strategy that comes with them can impress, both on paper and in person. But the reality is that ownership experience is more important. Ownership experience is shaped by parts availability, service speed, and logistics reliability. Ownership experience helps the brand and its vehicles make lasting impressions on customers beyond the initial delight of driving a brand-new car off the dealership lot.
By tapping an established player like DHL, VinFast is addressing one of the biggest concerns Filipino buyers still have about new and emerging EV brands. It signals an understanding that market entry is not just about launching cars, but also sustaining them, especially in a country where after-sales support can make or break a brand.
