SEAOIL Radical Challenge Philippines concludes epic 2024 season

Despite gloomy weather, the Clark International Speedway (CIS) came alive with intense racing action as the SEAOIL Radical Challenge Philippines, powered by BPI, hosted its 2024 season finale. It was a showdown of rookies, with Mikey Jordan clinching the SR3 Challenge Cup title and Rainy Medina taking the SR1 Challenge Cup crown.

Fueled by race-engineered SEAOIL Extreme-97, Jordan set the early pace in Qualifying in his SEAOIL-liveried SR3, clocking an impressive 1:57.096 lap to claim pole position. Hot on his heels, Andre Rodrigues secured P2, setting the stage for a fierce championship battle. Medina kept up the momentum by qualifying P3 on the grid, leading the SR1 pack.

In Race 4 on Saturday afternoon, the 7-car grid roared to life as Jordan dominated from lights to flag, reclaiming the SR3 Challenge Cup points lead from Rodrigues. In a surprise performance, newcomer Rafa Caceres pursued Jordan closely, finishing second on his debut, with Rodrigues following in third. Meanwhile, Medina tightened his grip on the SR1 Challenge Cup with his third win of the season, putting him firmly in championship contention.

Sunday’s races saw intense competition as Medina and Rodrigues went wheel-to-wheel up to Turn 1 in Race 5, with Jordan and rookie Michael Apacible joining the action. Apacible’s promising run ended abruptly with a spin on lap 5. Medina led the SR1 class to victory, while Jordan strategically held back to secure his SR3 class win. Caceres impressed again with a second-place finish, as Rodrigues settled for third after an early spin.

Race 6 capped off the season with a thrilling duel between Jordan and Medina, with Jordan seizing the lead on lap 2. Both cruised to their respective class titles, solidifying their championship positions. Caceres rounded off his strong debut with another second-place in SR3, while Apacible claimed second in SR1, followed by Matthew Edmunds in third.

In addition to their individual championships, Mikey Jordan brought SEAOIL x Jordan Racing to the top in the SR3 Teams’ Championship, while Rainy Medina’s team, Autoholic Garage, celebrated as SR1 Team Champions.

“The SEAOIL Radical Challenge Philippines 2024 season has been nothing short of extraordinary,” shared Edward Cruz, SEAOIL Philippines Inc.
