Nissan Philippines is set to expand its model lineup, as it will launch two new models “very soon,” according to a report by Autoindustriya. Nissan’s upcoming new vehicles in the Philippines will be sourced from China, and both will be new-energy vehicles: one a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and the other an all-electric Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV).
Autocar Philippines reached out to Nissan Philippines to verify the news, and the company confirmed the arrival of the N7 and the Frontier Pro PHEV.
Among the vehicles that Nissan PH will launch is the Frontier Pro PHEV, a pickup truck designed, developed, and manufactured in China for the global market. It was developed by Nissan in partnership with its Chinese joint-venture partner, Dongfeng. Once launched in the Philippines, the Frontier Pro PHEV will go up against the likes of the BYD Shark 6.

The Nissan Frontier Pro PHEV has a striking exterior highlighted by its distinctive LED headlight design, which gives the truck a futuristic appeal. It also comes with Nissan’s signature V-motion front grille and a muscular bumper featuring silver trim and beefy black cladding.
In China, the Frontier Pro is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with a high-output electric motor delivering over 402 horsepower and up to 800 Nm of torque. The EV mode is claimed to offer a maximum range of 135 kilometers.

On the other hand, the Nissan N7 BEV sedan first debuted at the 2024 Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition (Auto Guangzhou). It is the first model built on Nissan Dongfeng’s new modular architecture. The N7 BEV is developed and produced in China and measures 4,930mm long, 1,895mm wide, and 1,487mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,915mm.
To put things in perspective, the Nissan N7 is larger than the Toyota Camry. Specifically, the N7 is 10mm longer, 55mm wider, and 42mm taller. The Nissan BEV sedan also comes with a longer wheelbase than the Toyota Camry.

Nissan said that the N7 is designed to appeal to individuals who “place value on not only their own enjoyment but also family time.” In China, it is available with two battery options, 58kWh or 73kWh, and has a maximum cruising range of 635 kilometers (CLTC). The Nissan N7 produces 215 horsepower and 305 Nm of torque, and power is sent to the front wheels. Nissan claims that the N7 has a fast-charging capability, allowing it to charge from 10 to 80 percent in 19 minutes.
Inside, it has a modern cabin that’s highlighted by a massive 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Huawei HiCar, and ICCOA Carlink. It also has a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, giving the Nissan N7 a full digital cockpit with infotainment displays.

The Nissan N7 in the Chinese market is also available with 14 speakers, 5.8L of storage space with cooling and warming functions (placed on the center console), a 540° panoramic camera, a sensor-activated power tailgate, and adaptive cruise control, among many others.
Of note, the Nissan N7 is already included among the recognized electric vehicles in the Department of Energy’s (DOE) online portal. This shows that Nissan Philippines will debut the N7 soon, alongside the Frontier Pro PHEV.

Autocar’s Take
Nissan Philippines is about to expand its model lineup, which is good news since the car brand has been relatively quiet about introducing new products. The upcoming arrival of the Frontier Pro PHEV and the N7 BEV would give Nissan customers more options when shopping for electrified models, as Nissan PH currently offers the Kicks e-Power and the LEAF.
The upcoming arrival of the Frontier Pro PHEV and the N7 BEV will also give Nissan a boost in the Philippine market, as it will have additional products that could make the car brand more competitive, especially in the growing new energy vehicle category.
