Nissan has launched a new model in Latin America dubbed Kait, which is a subcompact crossover SUV that’s based on the previous-generation Kicks. Debuting in Brazil, the Nissan Kait is a vehicle that is essentially a redesigned version of the old Kicks, featuring a revamped styling and a new model name.
The Kait has already begun production at the Nissan Industrial Complex in Resende, Brazil, and it will be exported to more than 20 countries. The automaker said that it features an “expressive design” along with a “mechanical assembly with proven efficiency.” The Nissan Kait shares similarities with the previous-generation Kicks, which is the current model that’s being offered in the Philippine market.
The Nissan Kait is fitted with slim LED headlights, daytime running lights, and an angular bumper that’s accented by silver and gloss black trims. Turning at the side, it has prominent wheel arches, a black cladding that can be seen throughout the Kait’s side profile, and it sits on a set of stylish 17-inch alloy wheels.

The rear gets a pair of distinctive taillights that seem to be connected by the black trim that runs on the tailgate. It also has a shark-fin antenna, a proud “KAIT” emblem at the back, and a large bumper that’s finished off with a two-tone color play of black and white.
Inside, it has a black interior theme, and the dashboard layout is reminiscent of the old Kicks, but the Kait’s dashboard has a different set of air con vents. Also noticeable is the simpler design applied to the Kait’s gear selector.

The front seats feature Nissan’s Zero Gravity technology, which is said to help reduce pressure on the spine, improving blood circulation and minimizing fatigue. It also has 60:40 split folding rear seats, a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless phone charger.
Under the hood, the Nissan Kait is powered by a 1.6-liter gasoline engine that delivers 110 horsepower and 146 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to Nissan’s Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT).
