Mitsubishi Motors Corporation unveiled the Elevance Concept at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show (JMS) as an electric crossover SUV that’s designed to inspire a sense of adventure. Through the said concept car, Mitsubishi intends to reaffirm its commitment to designing vehicles that offer “pure joy of driving,” pushing individuals to continue embarking on a road trip full of adventure.
Mitsubishi Motors President Takao Kato said that its booth at the JMS shows the car brand’s “passion for delivering the timeless wonder of exploration,” the theme that inspired the development of the Mitsubishi Elevance Concept.
The Elevance Concept’s exterior design looks modern and futuristic. But one can see hints of Mitsubishi’s current design language, especially when you look at the concept’s front fascia, which could remind you of its newly launched model, the Destinator. Mitsubishi shared that the Elevance Concept’s overall design features a balance of elegance with strength.
The front end showcases an evolved interpretation of Mitsubishi Motors’ Dynamic Shield design, which is combined with a honeycomb grille that gives the electric crossover SUV a sleek yet assertive look. The front bumper adds muscle to the Elevance Concept, which results in giving the vehicle a bold stance.

Turning at the side, the Mitsubishi Elevance Concept is highlighted by crisp character lines as well as prominent wheel arches that are integrated with black cladding. The side windows are also larger than the conventional design, which is intentional as it aims to give passengers an unobstructed view of the surrounding scenery while the vehicle is in motion.

The rear gets distinctive taillights as well as a beefy bumper design. But what stands out the rear is the trailer that comes with the Elvence Concept. Mitsubishi explains that the concept supports a trailer that features ample interior space, which is equipped with a kitchen and a shower enclosure, which come in handy when camping out.

Inside, the Mitsubishi Elevance Concept has a three-row, six-passenger seating layout that offers ample cabin space. It also comes equipped with leather seats to make every drive comfortable.
The dashboard has a modern and clean-looking design that features a large-screen monitor that fully extends from the driver’s side to the passenger side. Mitsubishi said that this design allows the driver an intuitive view of front blind spots and other areas around the vehicle, resulting in better visibility.

The Mitsubishi Elevance Concept introduces an AI Co-Driver, displayed on the LCD screen embedded in the steering wheel and instrument panel. The said feature offers personalized destination suggestions tailored to individual lifestyles and preferences. It also uses AI technology to analyze surrounding conditions and vehicle status in real time.
Powering the concept SUV is a Plug-In Hybrid powertrain equipped with a high-efficiency gasoline engine as well as a large-capacity traction battery. Mitsubishi also fitted a quad-motor 4WD system, with in-wheel motors at the front to enhance steering stability, and dual-motor Active Yaw Control (AYC) at the rear to deliver better traction and vehicle stability.
