MG Motor Philippines is all charged up for the upcoming 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), happening from June 4 to 7, 2026, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. At the said show, MG will launch three new electrified vehicles, which could be the RX9 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), the all-new MG4 EV, and the HS PHEV.
The teaser image shared by MG suggests that the RX9 PHEV is among the vehicles that it could be launching at PIMS 2026. Looking at the silhouette of the car placed in the middle, it matches the RX9 PHEV, especially in the layout of the front fascia.
We previously reported that the MG RX9 PHEV could soon debut in the Philippines, after it appeared on the Department of Energy’s (DOE) list of recognized EVs. The MG RX9 is a PHEV SUV that is set to go up against the likes of the BYD Tang DM-i. Based on the initial specs uploaded on the DOE website, the MG RX9 is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged hybrid engine, an electric motor, and a 24.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery.

It generates a combined power output of 324 horsepower and 390 Nm of torque. It is mated to a dedicated hybrid transmission, and power is sent to the front wheels. The initial specs also indicate it can deliver up to 100 kilometers of pure-electric driving.
The MG RX9 has a 2+2+2 seat configuration, making it a six-seater PHEV SUV, based on the initial specs uploaded to the DOE website. The second row has captain seats, while the third row comes with a 50:50 split.
The second car that MG PH could launch at PIMS 2026 is the all-new MG4 EV. Aside from the matching silhouette of the car placed on the left of the teaser image, the all-new MG4 EV has previously secured the necessary clearance for it to be launched locally.

It is expected to deliver around 163 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, courtesy of a front-mounted electric motor powered by a 42.8 kWh battery. The MG4 Urban could go for about 325 kilometers on a single charge, and it can be charged from 20 percent to 80 percent in under 40 minutes using DC fast chargers.
The other vehicle that could complete MG’s hat trick at the upcoming PIMS 2026 is the HS PHEV. Of note, MG PH has already previewed the HS PHEV during PIMS 2024, but the car brand opted to launch the HS Hybrid+ first in the local market. The MG HS PHEV is also now included in the Department of Energy’s list of recognized EVs.
With that, we could expect the MG HS PHEV to be equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, as well as an electric motor, generating a combined power output of 182 horsepower and 340 Nm of torque. It also comes with a 21.6 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery and a two-speed dedicated hybrid transmission. MG claims that the MG HS PHEV can deliver up to 100 kilometers (WLTP) of pure electric driving.

Autocar’s Take
MG Motor PH is all set to make its presence felt at the upcoming PIMS 2026, as it will be launching three new electrified vehicles that could be the following: RX9 PHEV, MG4 EV, and HS PHEV. These three vehicles will further expand MG PH’s model lineup, and they will serve as additional options that would benefit car buyers who are opting to drive home an electrified car.
The 10th PIMS is shaping up to be an exciting show, as participating car brands such as MG are preparing to launch new vehicles. Of note, more than 50 percent of the vehicles on display and for test drive at the 10th PIMS will be electrified models.
