Lynk & Co has expanded the variant options of the 06 crossover SUV, which was revealed during the United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI) multi-brand vehicle display and test drive opportunity at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA).

Dubbed Lynk & Co 06 Origin SE Sport Edition, the car brand intends to make the said crossover SUV look even sportier by integrating it with distinctive trims and blacked-out accents. The aesthetically enhanced 06 Origin SE is fitted with orange trim on the front fascia and window pillar, giving the vehicle a more unique look and additional style points.

The 06 SE Sport Edition also comes with blacked-out accents seen on its side mirrors and 18-inch alloy wheels. Lynk & Co shared that these blacked-out accents enable the 06 crossover SUV to have a sportier look.

The upgrades on the Lynk & Co 06 Origin SE Sport Edition are purely aesthetic. It still has the same power unit, which is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine that delivers 179 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed wet dual clutch automatic transmission, sending power to the front wheels. Lynk & Co claims that the 06 has a top speed of 195 km/h.

Other notable features of the Lynk & Co 06 are the following: it has a generous ground clearance, rated at 213mm, while also having disc brakes on all four wheels. It also has an electronic parking brake with auto hold, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, six speakers, dual-zone climate control, and a suite of intelligent driving assistance systems. Adding to the list of features is the 360-degree panoramic camera with a 180-degree transparent chassis view.

The pricing for the Lynk & Co 06 Origin SE Sport Edition starts at P1,134,000. As a comparison, the standard 06 Origin SE has a price tag of P1,199,000 as of this writing.

Autocar’s Take

Lynk & Co wants to make the 06 Origin SE an even sportier crossover SUV by introducing the Sport Edition variant. The new variant is integrated with aesthetic upgrades that are subtle yet distinctive. The addition of the orange trims on the front fascia and window pillar is subtle, but it adds more character to the Lynk & Co 06 Origin SE. The same goes for the blacked-out accents seen on the side mirrors and alloy wheels; the aesthetic upgrade is subtle yet distinctive.

The Lynk & Co 06 Origin SE Sport Edition only comes with aesthetic upgrades. It still comes with the same 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine that delivers 179 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed wet dual clutch automatic transmission.
