Jetour G700 Ark Edition hybrid SUV “swims” through deep water

Jetour G700 Ark Edition

During the recently concluded Auto China 2026 in Beijing, the Jetour G700 Ark Edition exhibited its GAIA Ark Tech, a feature unique to the Ark Edition, which allows the G700 for amphibious drives. What makes this particular test special is that it was held not just in a man-made dip but in the wild, an actual river. And not just any other river. The Jetour G700 Ark Edition crossed the Yangtze River, the longest river in Asia.

The buoyant Jetour G700 Ark Edition, which edges the base Jetour G700 with amphibious capabilities, features an independent fording system that allows it to be steered and driven on water.

Redefining all-terrain, the Jetour G700 Ark Edition’s amphibious drive has been made possible by its GAIA architecture combined with its CEM-O Amphibious Range-Extender. Unlike conventional hybrid systems, CEM-O integrates an independent 800V water-fording system with the Jetour G700 range-extending technology. It works by detaching the drive from the wheels and redirects energy to dedicated water fording systems when the vehicle is switched to navigation mode. Simultaneously, a comprehensive sealing system and independent engine waterproofing ensure the stability of core components while submerged.

The Yangtze River demonstration of the G700 Ark Edition also tested the IP68-rated waterproofing and the intelligent navigation stability system, which managed the buoyancy and directional control of the special-edition Jetour flagship SUV.

Almost a month since United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI) unveiled the Jetour G700, the flagship SUV has received positive reception from the automotive community. Its off-roading capabilities, while burning very little fuel, thanks to its PHEV technology, are gaining the attention of many, especially now that electrified vehicles have been embraced by more locals brought by the ongoing oil crisis.

Like a true off-roader, the Jetour G700 features ladder-frame construction, making it durable for rough terrain. It also features an advanced 4WD system coupled with smart terrain management functions, properly combining premium and adventure in one SUV package.

Autocar’s Take

The Jetour G700, which officially entered the Philippine automotive market in April 2026, is set to be the brand’s flagship model, featuring all the top-notch development, technology, and design that Jetour has to offer.

Though the G700 Ark Edition’s amphibious driving feature is on a different level, this special model just exemplifies the brand’s dedication to developing the G700 nameplate with outstanding tech and features in making it a true all-terrain vehicle. Moreover, it underscores Jetour’s seriousness about showcasing technology, performance, and design, enabling the brand to deliver more than just value-oriented offerings.

The base G700 is already a bold attempt by the brand to reach higher segments of the market, and the G700 Ark Edition is proof of its solid commitment to reaching the top tier.
