Luxury carmaker Aston Martin and Swiss watchmaker Breitling have unveiled their first collaborative timepiece, introducing the Top Time B01 Chronograph 41 Tribute to Aston Martin DB5. Inspired by one of the British marque’s most celebrated grand tourers, the limited-edition collection pays homage to a partnership rooted in automotive and horological heritage.
The release marks the first product born from the partnership announced earlier this year, bringing together two brands long associated with craftsmanship, performance, and timeless design. Rather than simply placing an Aston Martin badge on an existing watch, Breitling developed a collection that draws heavily from the character of the legendary DB5.
The connection between the two brands dates back to the 1960s, when the Breitling Top Time chronograph appeared alongside the Aston Martin DB5 in the James Bond film Thunderball. That pairing became one of the franchise’s most memorable style moments, and the new collection revisits that era by blending classic automotive cues with Breitling’s signature chronograph design.

Several design details borrow directly from the DB5’s cabin. A wooden inner ring reflects the sports car’s iconic steering wheel, while the hand-colored leather strap echoes the look and feel of premium automotive upholstery. The cushion-shaped case, mushroom pushers, and dashboard-inspired subdials further reinforce the vintage aesthetic without sacrificing a modern appearance.
The Top Time Tribute to Aston Martin DB5 will be offered in three limited editions. Buyers can choose from a stainless steel version with a silver dial limited to 1,022 pieces, a steel-and-platinum model with a black lacquered dial capped at 315 units, or an 18-karat red gold edition featuring a natural onyx dial, restricted to just 250 individually numbered examples. The onyx dial also marks the first time Breitling has incorporated the stone into one of its watches.
Powering all three variants is Breitling’s in-house Manufacture Caliber 01, a COSC-certified chronograph movement with a 70-hour power reserve. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the movement features an Aston Martin-engraved rotor, reinforcing the collaboration beyond the exterior styling.
Available beginning July 2026, the Top Time Tribute to Aston Martin DB5 represents more than another luxury accessory. It serves as a celebration of two iconic names whose shared appreciation for precision engineering, enduring design, and performance continues to resonate decades after they first crossed paths on screen.

Autocar’s Take
Collaborations between luxury automakers and watchmakers are nothing new, but this one feels more authentic than most. Instead of relying solely on logos or branding, the Breitling Top Time Tribute to Aston Martin DB5 takes recognizable elements from one of the marque’s most iconic cars and translates them into a functional timepiece.
That attention to detail gives the collection genuine appeal to both watch enthusiasts and Aston Martin fans. While these limited-edition watches won’t be within everyone’s budget, they demonstrate how thoughtful design can preserve automotive heritage in a different form, making the Aston Martin DB5 story wearable beyond the road.
