Hyundai Motor Philippines has launched the new Staria Hybrid, expanding its local hybrid lineup with its first electrified premium MPV. The model starts at P1.99 million and introduces the brand’s Bluelink connected car services to the Philippine market.
The latest Staria represents more than a mid-cycle refresh. While the model receives updated styling and additional technology, the biggest development is the introduction of a hybrid powertrain, giving buyers an alternative to the existing diesel variants. Hyundai says the system delivers up to 17.7 km/L, making it a practical option for families, businesses, and fleet operators seeking lower fuel consumption
On the outside, the updated Staria features a refreshed front fascia highlighted by a redesigned grille, cube projection LED headlamps, and new 18-inch alloy wheels while retaining the futuristic design that has distinguished the model since its debut.

Inside, Hyundai has upgraded the cabin with a larger 12.3-inch infotainment display, a 12-speaker premium audio system, USB Type-C charging ports for front and rear passengers, wireless charging, and a steering column-mounted Shift-by-Wire selector that helps free up cabin space. The seven-seater variant now benefits from extended seat rails for improved cargo flexibility, while the nine-seater adopts a three-row seating configuration.
The Staria Hybrid also becomes the first Hyundai model in the Philippines to feature the company’s Bluelink connected car services. The system allows owners to remotely monitor vehicle status, control selected vehicle functions, and access live traffic and weather information directly through the infotainment system.
Supporting the hybrid powertrain are Hyundai-exclusive technologies such as e-Handling and e-Ride, which are designed to improve cornering stability and ride comfort. Safety has also been enhanced through the addition of Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Side Parking Distance Warning, and a suite of Hyundai SmartSense driver assistance technologies, complemented by six airbags.
The launch comes as hybrid vehicles continue to gain traction in the Philippine market. With many consumers now looking for better fuel economy without the need for charging infrastructure, automakers like Hyundai have been steadily expanding their electrified offerings across more vehicle segments.
Autocar’s Take
The Staria has never lacked road presence, but the addition of a hybrid powertrain gives it something even more valuable: greater everyday practicality. A large MPV naturally consumes more fuel than smaller vehicles, so improving efficiency has the potential to make a noticeable difference for families, shuttle operators, and businesses that spend long hours on the road. The introduction of Bluelink is another welcome addition, bringing connected car technology to one of Hyundai’s most versatile models. Overall, the Staria Hybrid isn’t just a facelift. It’s a meaningful update that makes the premium people mover more relevant in today’s market.
