Last October, Ayala’s mobility arm, ACMobility, announced that it would be pivoting its business direction as it would let go of all Honda Cars dealerships under its belt. This ends Ayala and Honda’s 35-year partnership.
Now, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has officially announced that, effective January 1, 2026, dealerships currently under the management of ACMobility will transition to the Gateway Group and the Borromeo Motoring Group (BMG).
HCPI confirmed that the Gateway Group will operate Honda Cars Makati, Cebu, Negros, Cagayan De Oro, and Alabang, which was announced earlier this year. Meanwhile, the BMG will take over Honda Cars Bacoor, Pasig, Mandaue, and Iloilo.
HCPI also announced its plan to establish a new subsidiary, which will operate Honda Cars Shaw. The car brand said that through this initiative, Honda will be able to elevate the overall customer experience across all dealerships nationwide. HCPI also believes that these strategic business moves will allow the brand to further meet customer needs and boost satisfaction to higher levels through the enhancement of dealer operational efficiency throughout the network.

“In a combined effort, the new subsidiary and our new and existing dealer partners will drive forward and ensure that Honda’s profound dedication to customer satisfaction is fully realised,” said HCPI President Rie Miyake.
HCPI will secure approval from the government regulatory bodies, and once approved, this strategic move is expected to begin in early 2026.
As a review, the partnership between Honda and Ayala began with the opening of Honda Cars Makati in 1990. This led to the establishment of the Philippines’ largest Honda Cars dealer group, with outlets across Metro Manila and key provincial cities. Over the years, Honda dealerships backed by ACMobility have sold more than 220,000 Honda vehicles.
ACMobility has also let go of other car brands in its portfolio, which include Maxus and Volkswagen. But it still has Isuzu under its belt as well as Kia and BYD.
