Green GSM ranks No. 1 in Ride-Hailing App category in the Philippines

Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (GSM) has reached a significant milestone with the Green GSM ride-hailing app securing the top position in the Travel & Local category of the Google Play Store in the Philippines, even prior to its official launch. This early achievement laid the groundwork for the successful introduction of Green GSM’s all-electric taxi service in Metro Manila on June 10.

Within just 48 hours of launch, the app recorded tens of thousands of downloads, reflecting strong interest in sustainable and innovative mobility solutions. The impressive uptake underscores the growing demand across the country for clean, dependable, and technologically advanced transportation alternatives.

Green GSM’s arrival in the Philippines represents a strategic expansion of GSM’s electric mobility footprint in Southeast Asia. The service offers commuters a cleaner and safer travel experience using modern VinFast Nerio Green electric vehicles equipped with Secure to Safe (S2S), an advanced safety monitoring system designed to enhance passenger security, particularly for women, children, and the elderly.

Feedback from both passengers and drivers signals a marked shift in public preference toward environmentally friendly and tech-integrated commuting. GSM Global CEO Nguyen Van Thanh remarked, “Green GSM is not merely an electric taxi service—it is a catalyst for the green mobility revolution in the Philippines. Leading the app charts from day one is a clear indication of public demand for safe, sustainable, and intelligent transport solutions.”

Designed with ease of use in mind, the Green GSM app allows passengers to book rides efficiently, monitor trip progress in real time, and enjoy a seamless experience with transparent pricing. Fares are displayed both in-app and through in-vehicle meters to ensure full visibility and confidence.

To mark the launch, Green GSM is offering new users a promotional reward of 500 Green Points (equivalent to PHP 500), applicable to their first seven rides. This promotion runs until August 31, 2025, encouraging wider adoption of environmentally responsible travel practices.

Operating under GSM’s “Go Green Global” strategy, Green GSM continues its mission to elevate mobility standards across the region by promoting transportation that is greener, smarter, and more civilized. Its expansion into the Philippines reinforces the company’s commitment to building a cleaner and more sustainable future for Southeast Asia.
