American car brand, Ford, has officially revealed the 2026 Mustang Dark Horse SC, a new flagship performance model to banner Ford’s fresh direction for its most extreme road-going pony cars. Developed under Ford Performance, the Dark Horse SC builds on the standard Dark Horse formula with a sharper focus on track capability, race-derived engineering, and outright speed.

Powering the Dark Horse SC is a supercharged 5.2-liter V8, an engine that’s closely related to the high-output units found in Ford’s previous halo Mustangs. Under the driver’s command is a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that spins the rear wheels. While Ford has not revealed the official performance figures, it said that the Dark Horse SC will surpass the output of the standard Dark Horse, making it the most powerful Mustang Dark Horse to date.

The Dark Horse SC benefits from significant chassis and suspension upgrades. Ford Performance engineers have revised suspension geometry and fitted forged components, alongside recalibrating the MagneRide adaptive dampers. Stopping power has also been enhanced with larger Brembo brakes designed to endure demanding conditions, especially on the track.

Aerodynamics and cooling have been given equal attention. A redesigned front fascia, characterized by a vented hood, bigger bumper air inlets, and functional underbody elements work together to improve airflow management and thermal efficiency. For those seeking an even more focused styling, an optional Track Pack introduces carbon-fiber wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, and carbon-ceramic brakes inspired by Ford’s top-tier performance cars. The Dark Horse SC Track Pack also comes with a bigger and wider carbon-fiber rear wing to help generate around 680 pounds of downforce at speeds in excess of 290 kph.

Inside, the Dark Horse SC adopts a driver-centric approach, featuring performance-inspired seating options, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and subtle design cues derived from Ford’s motorsports heritage.
