Lubang Island made its mark in Philippine motorsports history for hosting the first-ever interland rally: the Rally of Lubang.
Held last July 27-28, 2025, in Lubang, Occidental Mindoro, the Rally of Lubang featured two gruelling rally rounds over two days, which got the full support of the local community across the island.
Sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) – the country’s FIA-recognized national auto club and governing body for four-wheel motorsports – the Rally of Lubang featured 12 special stages: six during a night rally on Friday, followed by six more under the sun on Saturday, all run on paved roads.
The event was held as a blind rally – no pace notes or reconnaissance runs were allowed. Co-drivers navigated solely using a route map provided by the organizers, testing trust, timing, and instincts.
Organized in partnership with the Local Government of Lubang, under Mayor Michael Orayani, and executed by the Philippine National Rally Championship (PNRC) and Philippine Rallycross Series (PHRX) through Olson Camacho and Ronnie Trinidad, the Rally of Lubang introduced a new chapter for local rallying.
