Exhibiting the speed of Filipino drivers on the international stage, the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) will send 12 drivers from various motorsport disciplines to represent the country at the 2025 Asia Pacific Motorsports Championship (APMC), taking place in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on September 26-27, 2025.
Sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the APCM is a landmark international event hosted by the Ceylon Motor Sports Club (CMSC), the oldest motorsports club on the island, and is collaboratively organized by the regional ASNs of the Asia Pacific.
“The APMC 2025 will celebrate the unity of the region and the passion of motorsport. Featuring six disciplines, this event will showcase the depth and the skills of an entire region. This year is special because the FIA Affordable Cross Car will make its debut, and we will see the talent and the skills of the new drivers,” said FIA Secretary General for Sport Valerio Iachizzi.
The races will be held at the Speedbay Karting Circuit in Bandaragama, with over 140 racers from 25 countries participating.

Raising the Philippine flag in APMC is a 12-driver team coming from various local motorsport disciplines. Philippine motorsports phenom Carlos Iñigo Anton, together with autocross champions Richard Gallardo and Dorathea Legaspi are set to compete in the Auto Gymkhana event.

Meanwhile, champion rally drivers Louie Camacho, Ricardo Dy-Liacco, and Ricardo Montelibano will be racing the Crosscar, an open-wheel dirt cart, in autocross.

Karting standouts Mariano Axel Nocom, Ryan Sy, and Martin Zaragoza will be exhibiting their karting prowess at the track. Anton will also represent the country in the Karting Slalom event.

Sim racing will also be part of this year’s APMC and esport racers Luis Moreno and Russel Reyes will be racing for the Philippine flag.
“Our 12 drivers carry not just their racing suits and helmets, but the hopes of Philippine motorsports,” said AAP Trustee and Motorsport Committee Chair Mandy Eduque.
AAP Motorsport head Rikki Dy-Liacco, who will also join the team in Sri Lanka said, “we’re proud to stand behind them. We are confident that Team Philippines will rise to the challenge and make the country proud.”
