Filipino actor Coco Martin, the star of the hit TV series, “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” is more than just a celebrity. As an entrepreneur, he gets to partner with big brands to boost his businesses. One such brand is Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), which has tapped the action star as one of its brand ambassadors to reach out to more people.

One of Martin’s TMP projects is a nationwide tour, which features him and the Toyota Tamaraw. For this, TMP recently headed to Cagayan De Oro, the first provincial stop of the Tamaraw caravan, to meet and greet with Toyota Tamaraw owners at the Toyota Cagayan De Oro (TCO) dealership, many of whom are small and medium-scale entrepreneurs. There, Martin, together with TCO executives Betty Lu and Peter Lim Lo Suy, handed over a newly purchased Tamaraw Utility Van to customers Mr. and Mrs. Lopez.

“Habang okay ang aking career, sinisumulan ko ang pag nenegosyo. Nagtayo ako ng isang kompanya na ang pangalan ay Coco Plus. Ang Tamaraw ang ginagamit ko para sa aking hanap buhay para mas mapabilis ang pag-aangkat at pagdedeliber ng aking mga produkto (While my career is going well, I’m starting a business. I established a company called Coco Plus. I use the Tamaraw for my business to speed up the delivery of my products),” shared Martin as he highlighted the workhorse capabilities of the Toyota Tamaraw.

One of the Tamaraw owners present in the meet-and-greet event was Sohaimah Noroden, who operates N&S Glassware and engages in live selling. Having recently bought a Toyota Tamaraw Aluminum Cargo variant to mobilize her business to more areas in the region, she underscored the vehicle’s cargo space and affordability.

After the showroom program, Martin went to a nearby mall where TMP set up a display, featuring the next-generation Toyota Tamaraw. The celebrity headlined the celebration, drawing in many mallgoes to explore the Tamaraw and its various configurations.

The next-generation Toyota Tamaraw was first introduced in late 2024 as a modern utility vehicle designed with entrepreneurs in mind. The Toyota Tamaraw lineup currently includes Dropside, Utility Van, and Aluminum Cargo, with new additions such as the Wing Van, Food Truck, and Mobile Store, which were unveiled last July.

The nationwide Toyota Tamaraw caravan with Coco Martin is expected to bring more activities for local entrepreneurs in the coming months. This is a welcoming move by TMP to boost the economy, as well as to provide small and medium-scale businesses the leverage they need to thrive.
