The Geely EX2 is among the upcoming vehicles to be launched by Geely Philippines this year, news that the car brand has revealed since last December. Aside from being China’s best-selling model from January 2025 to December 2025, the Geely EX2 also earned the title of World No.1 selling car in the A/B (subcompact) segments.
The Chinese car brand said that the Geely EX2 achieved annual sales of 465,775 units. Geely said that the EX2 is one of its most popular models, as it posted cumulative deliveries of 500,000 units in just 14 months after launch. This is said to be the fastest among all electric vehicles launched in China from 2024 to 2025.
The Geely EX2 is regarded as a subcompact electric hatchback that offers balanced strengths in space, driving performance, intelligent technology, and safety, according to the car brand. In terms of cabin space, Geely said that the EX2 comes with 890mm of rear-seat knee room, which helps enhance passenger comfort.

Storage-wise, the Geely EX2 has a 70-liter front trunk, or frunk in electric vehicle (EV) speak, along with a 28-liter under-rear-seat storage area and a 375- to 1,320-liter expandable rear cargo space. It also has 36 storage compartments throughout the cabin, giving occupants several storage compartments to stow away different items.
Built on Geely’s GEA architecture, the Geely EX2 is integrated with a rear-wheel-drive multi-link suspension, as well as a minimum turning radius of 4.95 meters, and an 11-in-1 electric drive. Geely shared that the EX2 is equipped with the Flyme Auto intelligent cockpit system, which is complemented by a 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, as well as a suite of advanced driver-assistance (ADAS ) functions.

The Geely EX2 has been launched in Brazil, Indonesia, and Thailand. In Brazil, the car brand noted that the EX2 ranked second in local electric vehicle sales just 16 business days after launch.
As mentioned earlier, the EX2 is among the upcoming models that Geely Philippines plans to launch this year. The new model launch is seen by the car brand to help boost its sales in the local market, as it aims to hit 7,000 unit sales in 2026. The Geely EX2 could be offered in two variants, Pro and Max. Based on the spec sheet uploaded on the Department of Energy’s (DOE) website, the Pro is the entry-level variant while the Max is the top-spec trim.
Both Geely EX2 variants come with an electric motor that can generate 114 horsepower and 150 Nm of torque. It has a claimed top speed of 130 km/h along with three drives (Eco, Comfort, & Sport), and is equipped with a 39.4 kWh battery. Moreover, the spec sheet seen on the DOE website indicates that both the Geely EX2 Pro and Max variants come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Autocar’s Take
The EX2 all-electric subcompact hatchback is proving to be one of the most popular models of Geely, as it is achieving strong sales numbers from several markets, including China. This is a good sign for Geely Philippines, as it will have a contender in the expanding new energy vehicles segment in the local market, which includes strong rivals such as fellow Chinese car brand BYD.
The Geely EX2 is expected to be launched in the Philippines this year. Based on the initial reports, Geely Philippines plans to launch the EX2 in the local market sometime in Q2 2026. The exact launch date has yet to be announced by Geely PH. Take note that Geely also plans to launch the Galaxy Starship 7 a.k.a. the EX5 EM-I, initially slated for launch in Q1 2026.
