Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), marketer of Caltex fuels and lubricants, announced that 82 percent of its automobile mechanics scholars are now employed in leading companies. This is after completing a 15-month intensive Automobile Mechanics Training program at Don Bosco Technical Institute in Makati City.

The scholarship program was made possible through a partnership with CPI, Don Bosco – One Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), and the AmChan Foundation Philippines (ACFPI). CPI shared that among the first batch of graduates, two scholars joined Bidang Motorista Caltex Autopros, while others managed to land roles at European and Japanese automotive firms, and at respected local after-sales service companies.

Chevron PH said that this program reflects a shared commitment to empowering the youth supported by Don Bosco Technical Institute. The company believes that this partnership is an investment in the potential of the Filipino youth, helping them become skilled professionals.

“At Chevron, we believe education is the fuel that drives lasting progress. This partnership is more than training young people to be mechanics—it’s about giving them the keys to a brighter future. By equipping these scholars with skills that match industry demand, we’re helping them build stable careers, uplift their families, and strengthen the communities they call home,” said Chevron PH Lead Corporate Affairs Advisor Atty. Raissa Bautista.

Last year, Chevron PH also entered into a partnership with Don Bosco – One TVET and the ACFPI. Under this partnership, Don Bosco will provide Chevron with a list of TESDA-certified graduates for employment in Caltex-branded workshops. Workshop owners have the opportunity to recruit skilled mechanics from Don Bosco Training Centers situated in strategically important locations across the country.

Don Bosco will develop and offer a 2-day Refresher Course and a 5-day Training Course for existing mechanics at Caltex-branded workshops to be conducted at Don Bosco’s training centers. Three courses are offered: Motorcycle and Small Engine Servicing (MSES), Automotive Servicing, and Automotive NC I and NC II Engine Repair.
