Julien’s Auctions, in partnership with Turner Classic Movies, is auctioning something that would delight Batman fans. This is because a screen-used Batmobile from Tim Burton’s 1992 film Batman Returns is up for auction.
The auction will take place on November 23, 2026, in Los Angeles, with online bidding said to be open to interested individuals. The Batman in the 1992 Batman Returns is played by Michael Keaton, and he is the Batman who drove a sleek black Batmobile that features a distinctive front end with a jet-turbine nose and a flair-design rear end that mimics bat wings.
Julien’s Auctions shared that the iconic Batmobile was built by Carl Casper, who produced the vehicle on a custom chassis made from two Chevrolet Impalas. The body is said to be almost completely sculpted by hand, and its gothic-inspired design is regarded as helping define the visual direction of Tim Burton’s Gotham City.
Franchise producer Michael Uslan said that Batman is defined by “having no superpowers, an unmatched rogues’ gallery, an origin story that towers over the genre, and the car.” With that, the upcoming auction allows collectors to own a piece of Hollywood and Batman history.
The auction house added that the specific Batmobile comes with an estimated sale price that ranges from P312.4 million to P437 million. Julien’s Auctions mentioned that the last major Batmobile sale was back in 2013, when George Barris’s original 1966 television car sold for P287.4 million. As such, the screen-used 192 Batmobile could soon set a new auction benchmark for succeeding Batmobiles.
The auction will also feature an extraordinary selection of additional Batman memorabilia and Hollywood treasures, with more props, costumes, production artifacts, collectibles, and rare pieces from the world of Gotham City and beyond.
