BAIC Philippines, under UAAGI Auto Inc., is determined to expand its network in the local market as it officially formalized its partnership with MG Gateway Mantrade Corp. The partnership between the two companies was sealed through a contract signing ceremony held at the BAIC PH flagship showroom in North EDSA.
The contract signing was attended by executives from both organizations, including BAIC Philippines Brand Head Timothy Sytin, UAAGI Vice Chairman Kenneth Sytin, MG Gateway Mantrade Corp. Chairman & CEO Markane Goho, and MG Gateway Mantrade Corp. General Manager Alvin Lu.
BAIC PH said that the partnership marks a major step in its nationwide expansion, as Gateway Group is known as one of the country’s largest and established automotive dealer groups. BAIC added that Gateway Motors Group has built a strong presence in the Philippine automotive industry through its extensive dealership operations and commitment to delivering quality mobility solutions across multiple brands.

As such, Gateway Group is set to open three new BAIC dealerships, which will rise on Manila Bay, BGC in Taguig, and Matina in Davao. The Chinese car brand said that these upcoming dealerships are expected to strengthen BAIC’s presence in the Philippines, as it makes the brand more accessible to potential clients.
“Gateway Group coming on board tells us the demand is real, and we’d rather grow where people are already asking for us than get ahead of ourselves. Each new location is one more place a Filipino can get to know BAIC up close, and that’s what keeps this moving,” said BAIC Philippines Brand Head Timothy Sytin.
The partnership is also said to be aligned with BAIC PH’s and Gateway Group’s aim to support the market’s increasing demand for new energy vehicles such as hybrid and electric. Having more dealerships would mean that BAIC PH can further showcase its new energy vehicles, such as the BAIC B30e Dune Hybrid, BAIC B40e Trailmaster rEV, BAIC B60 Beaumont Diesel Hybrid, and BAIC B60e Beaumont rEV.
