ACMobility and Shell Pilipinas Corporation have expanded the country’s electric vehicle charging network with the opening of eight new EV charging stations at strategic Shell Mobility locations nationwide. The move marks another step in improving long-distance travel for EV owners in the Philippines.
The latest additions are located at Shell Mobility stations along the northbound and southbound lanes of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Mexico, Pampanga. These sites are expected to support motorists traveling to popular northern destinations such as Baguio City and La Union, while also providing a convenient charging stop for those returning to Metro Manila.
The rollout is part of the partnership signed by ACMobility and Shell in September 2025, which focuses on deploying DC fast chargers at Shell stations situated along major highways and key travel corridors. The initiative aims to reduce range anxiety and make electric vehicle ownership more practical for Filipinos who regularly travel beyond urban centers.
The eight operational charging hubs are located in Mexico and Dau in Pampanga, Subic in Zambales, Mangaldan and Alaminos in Pangasinan, and two locations in Davao City. Together, they expand EV charging access across Luzon and Mindanao while supporting the broader vision of a nationwide charging network.
According to ACMobility Head of Mobility Infrastructure Carla Buencamino, the collaboration with Shell supports the company’s efforts to develop the Philippine EV Spine by making charging facilities available along major transport routes connecting Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Shell Mobility’s Non-Fuel Retail and E-Mobility Manager Jolo Valdez added that the partnership combines Shell’s nationwide retail footprint with ACMobility’s charging infrastructure expertise to better serve the country’s growing EV community.
The companies are targeting a much larger rollout, with plans to establish charging hubs in 50 Shell locations equipped with more than 100 charge points. Additional sites in Pampanga, Cavite, and Camarines Sur are expected to open soon, while facilities in Batangas, Bataan, and Cebu are already lined up for construction.
Drivers can access the new charging stations through ACMobility’s Evro app, which allows users to locate available chargers, schedule charging sessions, and pay using GCash or credit cards. As of July 2026, ACMobility says it operates more than 200 charging locations across the Philippines, with further expansion planned in the coming months.
