For more than ten years, German carmaker Volkswagen has made its presence felt in the Philippines through its models such as the Polo, Touran, T-Cross, Tharu, among others. Now, Volkswagen is about to close a chapter as it will soon exit the Philippine market.

In more detail, Automobile Central Enterprise, Inc. (ACEI), a subsidiary of AC Industrials, has announced the conclusion of its partnership with Volkswagen AG, ending the distribution of Volkswagen vehicles in the Philippines. The decision marks the close of a collaboration that has lasted more than a decade, and signals a new direction for both organizations as they adapt to the evolving automotive landscape.

ACEI became the official distributor of Volkswagen in the Philippines in 2013. Since then, the German brand has offered a range of vehicles that appealed to Filipino families and motoring enthusiasts, supported by dealerships across key regions. As part of the transition, Volkswagen’s vehicle sales will end, with its remaining dealership, Volkswagen BGC, set to close by the end of September 2025.

“Over the past years, we’ve been proud to have brought the heritage and innovation of Volkswagen to the Filipino market. As we continue our transformation towards electric and sustainable mobility solutions, we recognize this as a natural point of evolution for both companies. While our paths are now taking different directions, we part ways with mutual respect, deep appreciation, and with optimism,” said Dana Uson, Head of Strategy of ACMobility.

Despite the conclusion of its local sales, Volkswagen assured continued support for existing customers. Services such as maintenance, repairs, and warranty coverage will remain available at its Alabang Service Center, Pampanga Service Center, and other authorized service facilities.
