Reliability, versatility, and functionality are just some of the key factors when shopping for a vehicle such as a seven-seater MPV. The Toyota Veloz is one of the contenders in the MPV category, a vehicle segment that includes the likes of the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross, Suzuki XL7, Hyundai Stargazer X, and Honda BR-V, among others.
Last year, the Toyota Veloz Hybrid was previewed in Indonesia, which is reportedly equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, the same power unit found in the Yaris Cross and the all-new Ativ. The said engine produces a combined output of 111 horsepower.
To prove that the Veloz Hybrid is a reliable vehicle, Toyota has put it into a road test that covered more than 7,000 kilometers. The Toyota Veloz Hybrid was driven thousands of kilometers across various road terrains in Indonesia, driving in Bali, East Java, Central Java, West Java, DKI Jakarta, Banten, South Sumatra, Riau, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra. The Toyota Veloz Hybrid completed this road test in 47 days in total. Now, this puts the song Overdrive of the Eraserheads into a new perspective.

Toyota Indonesia shared that the Veloz Hybrid drove through different terrain, which includes winding roads, provincial roads, uphill roads, and mountain passes. The automaker said that the Veloz Hybrid was able to successfully conquer the various terrain and road conditions it encountered during the 7,000 km journey. Toyota Indonesia added that the road testing showed the Veloz Hybrid’s reliability.
Toyota Indonesia Vice President Henry Tanoto said that the 7,000 km drive featuring the Veloz Hybrid was specially designed to test the MPV’s quality, durability, and reliability. With the Veloz Hybrid completing the journey without any issues, Tanoto expressed that it shows that the vehicle is indeed reliable and could take on the various road conditions in Indonesia.
During the drive, the Veloz Hybrid made pit stops in several Toyota dealerships across Indonesia. At each stop, Toyota certified technicians performed vehicle checks to ensure that the Veloz Hybrid remains in tip-top condition during the rest of the journey.
The Toyota Veloz Hybrid is now available for pre-order in Indonesia. It will also be showcased as the 2026 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) at JIEXPO, Kemayoran, Jakarta, from February 5 to 15, 2026.
