Lexus announced that it has updated the LBX by working on its chassis to achieve better driving dynamics. The Japanese car brand said that this update is meant to further evolve the LBX’s “Lexus Driving Signature.”

The approach that Lexus took with the updated LBX is similar to how it has refined the driving dynamics of the RX. Similar to the RX, Lexus has initially worked on the LBX’s handling stability and ride comfort at the Toyota Technical Center Shimoyama. Lexus shared that it has redesigned the thickness of the LBX’s center cross member to increase body rigidity. This allows the LBX to have a comfortable ride, according to Lexus.

Then, Lexus tested the LBX at the Nürburgring in Germany, a place regarded by the Japanese automaker as having “even more challenging road conditions.” Lexus said that it has put the LBX into thorough testing and tuning to be able to achieve the comfort and quality that is expected from a Lexus.

Among the components that Lexus worked on is adjusting the LBX’s shock absorbers to achieve a high-quality ride and achieve an optimized body control. Lexus said that the LBX has evolved into a ride with a high sense of road contact. The LBX’s electric power steering (EPS) control has also been modified to achieve a more natural and reassuring steering feel, giving drivers more confidence behind the wheel. Lexus added that it has achieved both ease of handling in parking lots and city streets and handling stability on winding roads and highways.

The Lexus LBX now also comes with a color head-up display (with linked steering wheel switches) and a drive recorder. These features are now standard on all LBX variants, improving usability and contributing to safer and more secure driving.

Meanwhile, for exterior colors, the Lexus LBX is available with a new paint option called “Sou.” It comes in a shade of blue that creates a subtle sense of “exclusivity within its simplicity.”

Autocar’s Take

Lexus has once again shown its dedication to making its product offerings better and more optimized. This is what it has done with the updated LBX, as it now comes with even better driving dynamics. Lexus’ commitment to making its vehicles, such as the LBX, at its best as it has undergone multiple testing both in Japan and in Germany. This shows how serious Lexus is about making its vehicles more optimized, resulting in better confidence behind the wheel. As a review, this is the same approach Lexus took when it updated the RX.
