Grab and Move It driver- and rider-partners get expanded health coverage through Maxicare, as part of Grab’s Kaagapay Social Protection program. This gives eligible driver-, rider-, and delivery-partners free, unlimited doctor consultations starting in November 2026.
The program is currently being piloted in Metro Manila, with planned expansion in other cities. Grab shared that the program also gives partners the option to extend consultation benefits to a family member, widening its coverage beyond the driver to the household that depends on them.
Grab Philippines decided to roll out an expanded health coverage since its driver- and rider-partners said that healthcare access is one of the areas where they most need support. Grab PH added that the expanded health coverage is the company’s initiative to strengthen social protection and support partners’ livelihoods beyond daily earnings.
“More Filipinos are building their livelihoods on platforms, and we recognize the growing need for programs that support their health and long-term security. Many of our driver-partners are their family’s breadwinners, and they spend their days looking after the people who depend on them. Through our partnership with Maxicare, we are taking a meaningful step to make sure someone is looking after them too, so they can keep building a future with us with confidence,” said Grab Philippines Managing Director Ronald Roda.

The company noted that the coverage under the program is earned on a rolling basis, giving partners a fresh opportunity to qualify every month. Grab said that partners who meet the program’s eligibility criteria in a given month are covered the following month. Beginning November 2026, eligible partners may avail of free, unlimited consultations at Maxicare Clinics nationwide during their covered month.
On top of this, Grab and Move It partners are also given the option to top up benefits like the Maxicare Insurance of up to P50,000 and Annual Physical Exam.
Grab’s Kaagapay Program also includes free life insurance from AXA, subsidized Pag-IBIG contributions, and health and medicine incentives. Separately, partners across both platforms are covered by emergency insurance from Cocolife and AIG for accidents and other unexpected incidents on the road.
Autocar’s Take
Grab Philippines is taking the necessary steps to show its support for its driver- and rider-partners by offering expanded health coverage that includes free and unlimited doctor consultations via Maxicare. Through this, Grab and Move It partners can have a more comprehensive option when it comes to taking care of their health, which is one of the areas where they most need support. This is also a nice gesture from Grab Philippines, as it shows that it is making an effort to show that they care about its driver and rider partners.
