GWM Philippines has posted its strongest monthly sales performance to date, delivering 232 vehicles in August 2026 and more than doubling its previous monthly record of 100 units, achieved just two months earlier in June.
The latest result gives GWM a notable boost in the Philippine automotive market, with the GWM Haval H7 emerging as one of the key contributors to the brand’s August performance.
According to GWM Philippines, demand for the Haval H7 helped drive the record month as buyers responded to the SUV’s combination of performance, efficiency, premium features, and competitive value.
“August’s numbers are the clearest signal yet that Filipino motorists are ready for what the Haval H7 offers,” said Dax Avenido, Brand Head of GWM Philippines.
Avenido described the Haval H7 as a capable and well-priced SUV that gives buyers a balance between efficiency and performance. He also pointed to the pace of the brand’s growth, noting that GWM managed to double its previous sales record within just two months.

The August result comes as GWM Philippines continues to build its presence in the local market. Rather than simply treating the sales milestone as a one-off achievement, the company says it is now working to strengthen its operations to keep up with increasing demand.
Part of that effort involves closer coordination with GWM’s dealer network, particularly in improving vehicle availability and providing customers across the country with a consistent ownership experience.
The new sales benchmark also adds to GWM Philippines’ momentum as the brand continues expanding its vehicle lineup and making its products more accessible to Filipino motorists.
With the Haval H7 playing a significant role in August’s result, GWM says it remains focused on offering vehicles with advanced technology, practical features, strong performance, and competitive value.
For a relatively young sales benchmark to be surpassed so quickly, the numbers suggest that GWM is gaining traction among local buyers. The jump from 100 units in June to 232 units in August is particularly significant, representing more than twice the brand’s previous monthly high.
GWM Philippines now heads into the remaining months of 2026 with a stronger sales base and the challenge of sustaining that momentum. With the Haval H7 helping lead the charge, the brand will be looking to turn its latest record into a more consistent presence in the Philippine automotive market.

Autocar’s Take
GWM Philippines’ August sales record is worth watching, not simply because 232 units is a new high, but because of how quickly the brand got there. Jumping from a 100-unit monthly record in June to more than twice that figure in August suggests that interest in GWM is building rather than remaining a one-month spike.
The Haval H7 appears to be doing much of the heavy lifting, giving GWM a model with a strong combination of performance, efficiency, features, and value. The bigger question now is whether the Chinese marque can maintain this momentum. If it can, 2026 could become an important turning point for the brand locally.
