The Filipino automotive customer is about to get a taste of technology-driven mobility as XPENG officially enters the country this September, bringing with it a very different idea of what an electric vehicle can be.

The Chinese AI-driven mobility company has confirmed that its Philippine operations will be handled directly by XPENG Philippines, its national sales and marketing subsidiary. The move gives the brand control over local sales, distribution, marketing, and retail operations, an indication that XPENG is looking at the Philippines as a long-term market and not just testing the waters.

Leading the initial lineup is the XPENG X9, a flagship seven-seat intelligent MPV aimed at families and professionals looking for a combination of space, premium comfort, and advanced technology. Alongside it will be the XPENG L03, an intelligent SUV coupe that combines contemporary body style with XPENG’s software-driven approach to mobility.

XPENG isn’t simply an automaker that builds electric vehicles, the company develops its technology in-house, including its advanced driver-assistance system, intelligent in-car operating system, powertrain, and electrical/electronic architecture. Their technology-first philosophy could prove interesting in a market where more and more consumers are starting to look beyond range and battery capacity.

XPENG has already established a presence in more than 60 countries and regions, making its Philippine arrival an important part of their global expansion.

Philippine specifications, variants, pricing, and availability of the X9 and L03 will be revealed at the official launch.
