BAIC Philippines has expanded its presence in the Visayas with the opening of a new dealership in Cebu City, giving local motorists access to the brand’s growing lineup of new energy vehicles (NEVs), along with sales, financing, and aftersales support. The new BAIC Cebu dealership, operated in partnership with Pacific Autoworld, Inc., officially opened on August 6 along Gov. M. Cuenco Avenue corner J. Panis Street in Kasambagan, Cebu City.

The facility is positioned as a one-stop destination where customers can view, compare, and test drive BAIC’s new energy lineup. It also provides financing assistance and an on-site service center, an important consideration for buyers who are still weighing the move toward hybrid and electric vehicles.

For aftersales support, the dealership is equipped with five dedicated service bays. It also has access to the UAAGI Auto Group’s service infrastructure supporting BAIC owners nationwide. According to BAIC, the facility will handle routine maintenance as well as specialized servicing for hybrid and electric drivetrains.

The Cebu dealership currently offers BAIC’s new energy lineup, including the B30e Dune in both 4×2 and 4×4 configurations, the B40e Trailmaster rEV, the B60e Beaumont Hybrid, and the B60e Beaumont rEV.

BAIC Philippines Marketing Director Cherry May De Los Santos said the company is grateful to Pacific Autoworld for bringing the brand to Cebu. She also said BAIC plans to introduce more new energy SUVs in the Philippines over the next year.

The move comes as electrified vehicles continue to become a more visible part of the Philippine automotive market. For Cebu buyers, however, the availability of local sales and service support could be just as significant as the vehicles themselves.

Cebu’s combination of urban traffic, long-distance travel, tourism, and business activity gives SUVs a particularly practical role. BAIC is clearly looking to position its electrified models as vehicles capable of handling those different demands while offering the potential benefits of improved fuel efficiency and lower running costs.

BAIC Cebu is open Mondays to Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The dealership is part of BAIC Philippines’ continued expansion of its local dealer network and aftersales coverage.

Autocar’s Take

BAIC’s new Cebu dealership is more significant than simply adding another showroom to its dealer network. As NEVs gain attention among Filipino buyers, having a place where customers can actually see, test drive, and service these vehicles locally can make a major difference.

The five service bays are particularly important. Buyers considering hybrid or battery-electric vehicles often want reassurance that proper support is available after the purchase, not just attractive technology and fuel savings. For BAIC, strengthening its Visayas presence through Cebu makes sense. The bigger question now is whether its expanding NEV lineup can turn that increased accessibility into stronger customer confidence and sales.
