BMW Philippines is preparing to expand its model lineup once again, as the all-new iX3 electric vehicle (EV) is now included on the Department of Energy’s list of recognized EVs. Not only that, BMW PH’s official website announced that the iX3 is coming soon this year.
Based on the specs uploaded on the DOE’s and BMW PH’s websites, the local market will be getting the BMW iX3 50 xDrive that’s equipped with a 13.4 kWh battery and could generate a maximum power output of 469 horsepower. BMW claims that the iX3 50 xDrive can go from zero to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds before hitting a top speed of 210 km/h.
The German car brand added that the iX3 offers an impressive range, allowing you to drive up to 805 kilometers (WLTP) on a full charge. It also offers a fast charging experience through its maximum charging power of 400 kW, wherein the iX3 50 xDrive can have an EV driving range of up to 309 to 372 kilometers in just 10 minutes. BMW added that the iX3 comes with low aerodynamic drag, boosting efficiency while retaining all the space and comfort one expects.
In terms of its design, the iX3 is the first BMW to feature the brand’s Neue Klasse concept. The said concept symbolizes the start of the new BMW model generation, as it represents the company’s venture in the electric vehicle (EV) era. Following the iX3, the all-new i3 is the second model to be revealed under BMW’s Neue Klasse concept.
The iX3 also comes with the “Hey BMW” personal assistant feature, which is designed to be a system that acts as your co-driver. It offers easy access to features such as navigation, communication, entertainment and vehicle controls. BMW said that while you drive, it can proactively offer suggestions and even handle repetitive tasks for you, should you choose.
The all-new iX3 50 xDrive is coming soon in the Philippines this year, according to BMW PH’s official website. However, BMW PH has yet to announce the exact date as to when the all-new iX3 will debut in the local market.
