Jetour Auto Philippines has emerged as the country’s top-selling plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) brand for the first half of 2026, anchored by the strong market performance of the Jetour T1 Lightning i-DM. The SUV also secured its position as the Philippines’ best-selling PHEV model during both the first and second quarters of the year, according to the latest sales figures released by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI).

The milestone came as the Chinese brand posted its strongest first-half sales performance since entering the Philippine market. From January to June 2026, Jetour sold 2,055 vehicles, marking a 182% increase from the 729 units recorded during the same period in 2025. June alone accounted for 502 units sold, nearly tripling the 168 units delivered in the same month last year.

Electrified vehicles led to this achievement. The company reported 1,926 PHEV sales in the first six months of the year, representing a 792% increase year-on-year. That figure has already reached 91% of its total PHEV sales volume for the whole of 2025, highlighting the growing acceptance of PHEVs among local buyers.

Leading the charge was the Jetour T1 Lightning i-DM, which sold 1,272 units between January and June. The model accounted for 62% of the company’s overall sales during the period, making it the biggest contributor to Jetour’s record-breaking performance. Its combination of plug-in hybrid technology, SUV practicality, comfort and value has resonated with customers looking for an efficient daily driver without sacrificing versatility.

Jetour Auto Philippines Managing Director Miguelito Jose credited the achievement to the growing confidence of Filipino motorists in the brand. He said customers are now seeking vehicles that combine smarter technology, improved efficiency and a more rewarding ownership experience, adding that electrification is no longer a future concept but a reality shaping today’s automotive landscape.

Building on that momentum, the company continues to promote its “Time To Switch. Upgrade to Electric.” campaign, which encourages motorists to consider plug-in hybrid vehicles by emphasizing improved fuel efficiency, lower emissions and the flexibility of combining electric driving with hybrid capability for longer trips. Jetour said it also plans to sustain its growth by expanding its dealership network nationwide while continuing to offer accessible electrified mobility backed by dependable aftersales support.

Autocar’s Take

The first-half results are putting into focus the fact that the local plug-in hybrid market is beginning to mature. Jetour’s rapid rise, led by the T1 Lightning i-DM, indicates that buyers are becoming more comfortable with electrified vehicles that offer the benefits of electric driving without the range concerns associated with full EVs.

While long-term success will still depend on product reliability, ownership costs and aftersales support, the sales figures show that value-oriented PHEVs are finding an audience. If this momentum continues, the competition in the local PHEV market could become even more interesting.
