Nissan Philippines believes that automotive design can inspire fashion, while street art can influence technology, and collectible toys can be canvases for storytelling. As such, the Japanese car brand has expanded its collaboration with internationally acclaimed Filipino artist Quiccs Maiquez to reimagine its latest vehicles that were displayed at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).
Nissan PH said that its continued partnership with Quiccs shows how “design can transcend industries and connect communities through a shared passion for creativity.” Building on the momentum from Nissan Festival, Quiccs’ new collection is inspired by Nissan PH’s new electrified cars that were showcased at the 2026 PIMS, which include the X-Trail e-Power, Nissan Kicks e‑Power, Nissan Navara Pro plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), and the Nissan Primera EV.

Quiccs integrated each piece with the same colorways as its corresponding vehicle, transforming Nissan’s design language into contemporary art. The internationally acclaimed Filipino artist said that each Nissan vehicle presented a different creative challenge.
“The X-Trail e-Power has a refined and adventurous character, the Kicks e‑Power feels youthful and energetic, the Navara Pro PHEV brings strength and capability, while the Primera EV represents a bold vision of the future. I wanted each piece to reflect those unique personalities while maintaining a cohesive visual language across the collection,” said Quiccs.

Quiccs added that the collaboration with Nissan allowed him to explore the similarities between two different creative disciplines.
“What excited me most about this collaboration was the opportunity to reinterpret Nissan’s vehicles through my own creative lens,” he said. “It’s interesting to see how the same design principles—shape, color, attitude, and storytelling—can exist in both automotive design and collectible art.”

For Nissan, the collaboration reflected a broader effort to connect with audiences through culture and creativity. “At Nissan, design goes beyond vehicles; it’s about creating emotional connections. Our collaboration with Quiccs celebrates creativity and self-expression, bringing together automotive innovation and contemporary art in a way that resonates with enthusiasts, collectors, and culture-driven audiences,” said Nissan Philippines President Yoshinori Kanazawa.

Autocar’s Take
The continued collaboration between Nissan Philippines and Quiccs Maiquez shows that the Japanese car brand values art. For Nissan PH, art is a powerful tool to push past your imagination and build something unique. This is what Nissan and Quiccs have been doing. Through Quiccs’ pieces, he manages to reinterpret Nissan’s vehicles guided by his own creativity, interpretation, and own creative lens.
Nissan also believes that its collaboration with Quiccs enables it to better connect with its target audience. Through art, Nissan aims to establish a connection with consumers, making its vehicles more than just machines that transport individuals from one place to another.
