Filipino motorists are showing growing confidence in electrified vehicles, and BAIC Philippines is among the brands benefiting from the shift. Backed by rising demand for hybrid SUVs and electric vehicles, the automaker has started 2026 on a strong note, posting higher sales and strengthening its presence in the country’s rapidly evolving new energy vehicle market.

The company reported a 10% increase in sales during the first five months of 2026 compared to the same period last year, reflecting stronger demand for its growing lineup of hybrid and electric SUVs. More notably, electrified vehicles accounted for 93% of BAIC Philippines’ total sales during the period, highlighting a significant shift in consumer preferences toward new energy vehicles.

Leading the charge is the BAIC B30e Dune, which contributed 69% of the brand’s total sales. The hybrid off-roader has emerged as BAIC’s top-performing model, appealing to Filipino motorists looking for a balance of efficiency, versatility, and everyday practicality. The B60 Beaumont series followed with an 18% share, further strengthening BAIC’s position in the country’s expanding electrified SUV segment.

The company also cited strong market reception for the recently launched BAIC B40e Trailmaster rEV. The electrified off-road SUV sold out within its first month of availability, signaling growing consumer acceptance of alternative mobility solutions beyond traditional internal combustion engine vehicles.

BAIC Philippines believes the market is rapidly evolving as more buyers consider hybrid and electric vehicles as practical transportation options. The continued success of its electrified models reflects increasing awareness of sustainable mobility and changing driving preferences among Filipino consumers.

The brand’s growth has also been supported by an expanding retail and aftersales network under United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI). BAIC currently operates through 17 dealerships nationwide, providing broader access to its vehicle lineup and strengthening customer support through trained technicians, genuine parts availability, and comprehensive aftersales services.

Further boosting the brand’s momentum was its participation in the 10th Philippine International Motor Show, where BAIC recorded more than a 35% increase in sales compared to its previous participation in the Manila International Auto Show.

Autocar’s Take

BAIC Philippines’ latest sales figures prove that electrified mobility is no longer a special segment but a growing mainstream choice for Filipino motorists. The fact that hybrid and EVs account for 93% of the brand’s sales shows how consumer attitudes toward new energy mobility are evolving.

Models such as the B30e Dune and B40e Trailmaster rEV prove that buyers are looking beyond fuel savings and are now seeking capability, practicality, and technology in one package. As infrastructure and public awareness continue to improve, brands that invest early in new energy vehicles stand to benefit from this growing market shift.
